Then you're not a fan. By fan I mean those, who love a film just because it has their favourite actor. They are not rational. And since topics like these are bound to bring a few of them, it's futile to have discussion on topics like this.

The word 'fan' is not just used for people like that. Its a term which is casually used by all of us to indicate that we 'like' something. Like I commonly say things like 'I'm a fan of Italian food', 'I'm a fan of 'gucci' brand, but that doesnt mean I am crazy about these things, but prefer to have them once in a while. My mom says shes a fan of SRK, but she is not crazy for him or something 😆, she just loves to watch good movies of his. Same is my case, I am a fan of SRK and prefer to watch his good movies. I might watch certain bad movies of his just once, thats all. Everyone likes him for a reason, like for me its mainly his comedy, I find him really funny 😆. So if there is a flop movie of with SRK comedy, I dont mind watching it 😉. Like I personally hated his movie 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna', I dint find any sense in it whatsoever, but I dint mind watching it for various other reasons, like I loved the star cast (SRK, Abhishek, Preity, Rani), I loved the songs, it had good comedy, good cinematography, etc. But that doesnt mean I would go around appreciating or recommending that movie 😆, even today if someone asks me about that movie I would say its 'horrible' 😆!
I meant 'fan' as per the proper meaning. I said those fans worship their favourite celebrity and sometimes literally. I didn't say that people don't use the word 'fan' casually. Neither did I say that those who describe themselves as 'fan' casually worship their idols.
BI debated about my usage of the word 'fan' and I told her that she doesn't fit the definition of a true 'fan'.
Now, I don't see what exactly is the problem in saying that fans worship their favourite celebrity, but it seems that there is some problem considering you are the third person coming up to defend themself against that remark.
As for the topic: I find some of the movies of SRK good, some of his films enjoyable but not great and some of his films totally rubbish.
I don't really think he is a great actor or anything and I definitely don't think that he is good looking.
But I do think he is a good businessman. Very good at negotiating and networking which is what has positioned him so favourably with the top production houses and brands and helped him in maintaining the hype amongst the people.

Hello why are you getting so agitated 😲?!?!?!? I'm not any third party who is coming in between to defend or attack anyone, I will say what I feel and if I dont agree with something you say, I dont have to remain quite just to please you. This forum itself is called 'Debate Mansion' so everyone has the right to express their views and opinions here. And regarding your 3rd party comment, if you remember, this is MY topic so I am the 1st party here and so I have my rights 😆😆!So cool down, take a deep breath and just relax 😆!
I said 'third person' not 'third party'. Third person as in BI, then another person and then you. All three of you took objection to that remark that fans worship their favourite celebrity.

Regarding the jealousy part, you know once I was reading an article by a psychologist who quoted such similar examples and said that the reason why men dont like such men whom a large percentage of women are crazy about is 'subconscous jealousy', and it seems these men themselves are not aware of it 😆!And as you said, whoever wants to be jealous of him can be so, but before criticising him, let them 1st be like him and then say whatever they want about him 😉!

The problem with such arguments is that it practically closes the debate, any guy who disagrees with you, or doesn't like SRK, will be judged as someone jealous... when the reason could simply be that they find him overhyped/overrated for an average actor 😛
Was that a female psychologist by any chance?
