Boredom

We have all faced this malady sometime or other in our life. Lets look into it and see if we can come up with the reasons for boredom in our life. Its advantages or disadvantages if any. Just trying to figure out why some dont get bored as much as others .

Personally speaking, I get bored when I achieve all the goals I set for myself, things are going hunky dory and there is a sense of security.

This is why I try to set my goals higher and like to have a job that keeps throwing new challenges at me. As far as sense of security is concerned, the crappy economy these days makes sure I am on my toes:)

Having a hobby also helps alleviate boredom. I come to DM when things are easy at work . That prevents me from getting bored and keeps me out of trouble at work too --- I am so busy bitching here that I don't give a rat's ass to who's doing what in my department. Helps me stay neutral during all the dirty politics played at work. I also come to DM when everyone is fast asleep at home except me:(

The only reason in my eye to which people get bored is the fact that they presume they have nothing to do. Whereas, in reality . . there are a hell lot of things that can keep us from being bored and totally indulged in them. And after that, the time span of 24 hours won't seem enough for the day.

The only reason a person can be legitimately bored is that if they are living in a vacuum. If they are in a vacuum, why are they still alive.

Oh noes. That explains all the zombie attacks. 😲

I think boredom is the first step to evolution. You eventually are forced into doing something new. What say?

I am all for new.

First I would like to take the moon and hit the earth really hard with it. I mean, something like a KABOOM!!!!!!!!!! Next, I would like to take a GIANT baseball bat and start hitting the planets one by one out of the ballpark (or the solar system in this case). After that point I would like to GROW (vertically) really really Tall till I tear the space time with my head and my feet. Then I will elongate my hands and pull together all the stuff that shines in the universe, lump them up in my hand and powder them and put it in my mouth like supari.

After that, there's nothing else remaining in the universe, so I would still be bored.

you would still be bored? thats why death exists. Why do you think successful businessmen dont die very young? it's because they always have something to do. Their life is always meaningful.

Life is meaningless regardless of who we are talking about, Gengs. Sooner you realize that, sooner you will save yourself from further disappointments.
