a physical need but not that one cannot survive if one doesnt give in ! One ought to have healthy interests in life so as not to get obsessed by any one need. It all depends on ones discipline in life. my take is that NO - it cannot be justified in MOST cases.

Masturbation has had a lot of taboos & myths associated with it but psychologists & physicians R recommending it as a means of safe release . As long as a person doesnt get obsessed with that either it shud B OK . A lot safer anyway than risking STDs by going to wrong places!

well yeah, but I think sex and masturbation vary as far as the level of satisfaction is concerned.

But after that? ... he left? Raat gayi baat gayi? He had no other intention? Was he married? Had he a girlfriend back home? ... Or was he single and just having fun (according to him). What was the background of this girl (not according to your friend, but in actual, because many Indian men go abroad and sometimes get involved in very unapproving activities, to which I remain an unimpressed witness).

Well he is still with her but on a daily raat gayi to baat gayi basis .. meaning hes with her but its only for the sex. he had a gf in kolkatta but even she was for sex i think...
