Truth Medicine !

Suppose someone invents tablets of "truth medicine" on gulping which one speaks only truth for next 15 minutes.

Would you oppose such an invention or be in its favour?

In other words pros and cons of such an invention !

Veritaserum

Veritaserum is also known as the truth potion or truth serum. Only three drops of this potion is needed to force anyone to tell the true answer to any question. An example of its use is when it is used on Barty Crouch Jr. in Goblet of Fire. In Order of the Phoenix, Umbridge tried to use it while interrogating students about their affiliation with Dumbledore's Army, but was actually using an ineffective potion supplied by Snape, and Harry pretended to drink it. In Half-Blood Prince, Harry considered using the potion to get Slughorn to reveal his memories about Voldemort, but thought better of it, and in Deathly Hallows Rita used the potion to extract the story of Dumbledore's childhood from Bathilda Bagshot. Rowling has revealed on her fansite that Veritaserum can be fooled using Occlumency and is not usually accepted in wizard courts.

Another angle would be whether this "potion" is being forced down someone's throats - ie the accused, the guilty, the criminals, etc. ---- that would be a different situation.

yeah thats debatable ! Well i guess they do use certain methods which are inacceptable to courts now also for the purpose of finding out truth !

i was thinking though how much fun it would be if 2 people who dislike each other but rarely show it gulp it down at the same time😆

But it's not only 'bout the honesty factor! People might have personal issues that they would like to hide from someone else. (Hiding something that isn't causing harm, to anyone isn't amoral, now, is it?). What if the other party forcibly or without letting the victim know makes him drink it? That sure would be amoral.
