Full marks to sonarika today, she acted so brilliantly, my heart went out for Anar! I don't think I have the heart to gulp down this tragedy! I think I am leaving the show! Might come back if a miracle happens and salim doesn't marry Maan! I don't get how actors separate their onscreen life and offscreen life, if I were any of them I would get depressed!

I am surprised anarkali really assumed akbar and jodha or anyone in mughal family will agree for her as wife to Salim. How immature shes a maidlived all life in palace do not know royals ways or norms about marraige

Even Salim being a royal has lofty view of world very kiddish and immature, i guess love is blind how he assume his family will agree?

Empress has many duties and an empress should be learned and even command army to go to war in case emperor or commanderr not around. Hence empress role only given to royal princess not to commoners. Empress has royal seal it may be misused. Does Salim not even understand or know that. His father had many commoners as wife he loved a few commoners like crazy like Daulat Shad etc he made her husband divorce her and married her but never made her empress or malika e hindustan although he had kids from her. If Salim insisted anarkali be a cocubbine than a wife or empress may be her life would have saved. Because of Salim crazy demands anarkali lost life or will suffer a lot.

Today when I saw Mann Bai trying to cut her wrists, she reminded me of Salim's scene where he was forcing Anar to accept his love. Mann is like the female version of Salim, both are stubborn and obstinate and don't like to listen to "No" or rejection.

I think we as viewers keep forgetting thats 15th century
That time parents(or grandparents) approval for marriage was very important

Todays society is different

In 21st century if parents oppose Salim marraige with anarkali he can just walk out of house and marry her.

Society may not like it but after few years or decades they will be accepted

Even if they are not accepted by family and society who cares in 21st century

Everyone is financially independent, no one depends on family anymore for financial support etc

Its more individualistic life style in 21st century each his own others opinion even parents and family do not really matter in these times whether its marraige or other things

But this serial is set in 15th century where norms were different

Crown Prince is second most powerful person after emperor but still Salim cannot make independent decisions on whom he can marry etc

So we can understand when second most powerful man in mughal empire that was most rich in world and had more than 10 crore people(highest population in that time for any empire, may be Julius Cesear Roman empire only could compete with mughal empire in history in terms of citizens and richness) cannot decide on his marraige etc it must be very rigid society compared to todays times

Its tough tio accept that but i guess as viewer we must accept that there were times when lovers were seperated or killed as family/parents opposed it or society would not accept it

In some places this still happens across world family do not like young adult family members making independent decisions especially about marriages

Like Akbar said in this serial marraiges is between two family and two empires not between two individuals for royals. And thats how it was and will be for many centuries to come

Its only recently that even British allowed a prince to marry a commoner
