The acting that is shown is deliberate. 😊Salim calls Anarkali Jaan e Salim. But in history, after Akbar rejected their love, Anarkali vanished, but Salim moved on. He got married, had kids, ruled the Mughal empire etc. In Romeo Juliet, once Romeo sees Juliet dead, he finds it hard to continue and so kills himself. If Anarkali was what he has been saying then Salim had to be something similar to Romeo and lose his life or at least his will to live. But Salim does nothing of the sort. That is where I made the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai reference. In that Rahul and Anjali are best friends before Tina came into the picture. In one of the scenes, Tina tells her father that she feels like she came between two friends, two lovers. In her last letter to her daughter, she reiterates the same thing saying that Rahul and Anjali were soulmates and she had intruded in that.

even if that theory is correct, then the characterisation should change and that too gradually, here acting is the problem, especially yesterday, today was still better, alas I am not going to try and argue with fangirls, whatever! Salim and Anarkali is a fictional story and it is supposed to be intense and beautiful! And I am also blaming the haphazard writing just as much as the acting, I saw a bigger dip in Sonarika's performance though!
The acting that is shown is deliberate. 😊Here is the parallel is Mann Bai was his best friend before Anarkali. If Mann Bai was still in Agra, chances are Salim might not have taken to Anarkali as much as he did. He was surrounded by people who were trying to harm him, even kids(Daniyal and Murad) who were not genuine with him. Anarkali filled the place that Mann Bai had vacated.Next thing is the version of Salim that fell in love with Anarkali. It was the angry young man, a soldier, who didn't consider himself as part of the royal family. One who rejected his place in that royal family. He was constantly shown to disregard everyone including Akbar and Jodha, reject every expectation. But as he has started to assimilate into his role as the royal prince, he is torn in his role. Anarkali expects the common man in him as he was when he first confessed his love. Salim too is trying to be that person with her. But unfortunately, the crown prince role in him is becoming dominate and taking over his personality. He no longer is just that soldier or angry young man who is with Anarkali. Hence we feel a sort of pretend love from his side.Initially Anarkali knew her place, that she was the "kaneez". She played that part with conviction. As she started to fall more and more in love with Salim, she has started to buy into his dream of her becoming the "Mallika". She has started to feel herself as part of royal family, as one of them. The makers are using the gaudy makeup to show this belief of Anarkali. She cannot really be shown walking around with tons of jewelry as that would become too obvious for others, but makeup is like a mask. She considers herself equal to the royal family. In other words is trying to be someone who she is not. Whether we like it or not, the class difference played a huge role in those times. Mann Bai can order for things and jewels, but not Anarkali. She couldn't say "do you know who I am" to others.I feel what they are showing is needed for the story to continue. They are trying to show that Anarkali was Salim's greatest infatuation and Mann Bai was his true love.

Sanar scenes are repeating again and again..so if we do the same thing again and again we tend to loose interest same happening with the actors too..the screen play is not that much good..always salim praising anar and staring each other,- how long they will do the same thing again and again..there should be some ups and downs in every relation and in life too but they are giving too much sugary dialogues for sanar😕

A TV actor that i liked once gave an advice to their young colleague "if the scene isn't written good then make it good it is the actors' responsibility too, you cannot lose steam so easy! These scenes are cheesy, I agree, but these scenes can still be done better!

I agree with you if the scene isn't written good the actor will make it good but in dem-sa most of the sanar scenes are repeating again and again how can they make it good..though its watchable becos of actors how long they will make it good..screenplay should be interest and excite the actors then only they can perform well..i like the story and actors one thing that is lacking is the screen play there is no excitement to watch the show
