Has anybody read Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors play. It is considered as the most farcical of his plays. It was made in India as the movie Angoor. From the beginning to the end of the movie, it is a laugh riot.

I felt like I am watching a comedy show after today's episode. It's like everyone is doing whatever they feel like with no rhyme or rhythm. The faux pas is very glaring and grating. I mean Anarkali addresses Jodha as "adaab rani sa. And Jodha folds hands and begs Anarkali. All of the royal family address her in a third person way like saying "aap. And that elephant was so fake. I couldn't stop laughing the whole time. Everything is OTT.

With such a brilliant cast, the makers should have made a memorable series. Each of these actors can add such a life to the characters and bring this story to life, if only the makers had given importance to script.

Hopefully the makers realize this and update their scripts.

I agree

Script is hero of a serial or film

No great actor however good be it Dilip Kumar or Amitabh Bachchan or Al Pacino can make a movie or serial hit with a bad script

Dialogues are second hero of the serial

Only than actors come and than set etc

Makers must put good writers to write script who know history and writing

Not everyone can be a Shakespeare or Gulzar, only one in billion can write good script or dialogues that become memorable

Audience knows that so they are fine with making mediocre scripts hit too(look at all Hindi movies be it Salman, SRK or even Sanjay Leela Bansali they are all mediocre scripts only with no logic and sense usually)

But even mediocre script should have some logic

It should make some sense, we cannot suspend belief and watch as a crown prince raises hands on emperor or refuses to hug him in front of all or refuses to take court responsibility or pours water on his brothers for his childhood friend whose actually a maid nothing more!!!!

A maid i waiting and Rakassa is advicing emperor and his queen etc whats this? A queen is folding hands and asking a maid to tell Salim to apologise. Why Salim loves his mother why cannot order him say sorry to Akbar? Why no one goes and speaks to Salim about his behaviours? Why all coming and advicing Akbar only? In 15th century all Prince go to gurukul for learning, Salim went to war field thats all. Why make such big issue?

If this serial script does not improve it will shut shop very soon

All writer had to do was follow mughal e azam script and put some light and comedy scene and more family interactions for Salim. If you cannot even copy a story made before in few movies than your writing capability is serious suspect.

Either writer does not know writing or they do not understand 15th century etiquttes and society which is important for serial

Or just make a 21st show with same story because characters are acting very 21st century type not 15th century and definetly not royal kind

Salim is acting like Amitabh bachchan in Deewar or his other roles(like sadap chap goon with family members) than a mughal crown prince.

Jodha acting like 1960s and 70s abla hero mom Nirupa Roy than a Empress

Anarkali no way looks or acts like a Kaneez or Rakassa. I think the actress does not suit role at all, her body language and experssion for maid is really bad, she acts like a dominating princess not a maid or Rakassa. She looks elder than Salim and Jodha too in most scenes. I think actress playing Jodha would be good as anarkali she has that innocence and calm and timidity that fits to play a kaneez or Rakassa role. If Salim would fall in love with that actress playing Jodha as anarkali and a Rakassa audience would be more convinced as she looks very innocent and vulnerable the type a crown prince would want to save from world. The actress playing anarkali has no innocence and vulnerability, her body language looks forced, she wants to act like maid and vulnerable but cannot. The actress playing Jodha suits anarkali role more.

The other casts are good in their roles but script and dialogue letting them down. Murad and Daniyal negativity must reduce. If Salim is angry young man to extreme, Murad and daniyal are over negative which do not suit them. They are 20 year olds right now they will be interested in pleasures of life as young adults not politics and killings etc

What a sad state of affairs. I was hoping this serial would be good since there are so few historical TV series but sadly no.

Poor story, poor direction and all nonsense, and this is the second week. What a total waste of the beautiful sets.

I desist from naming but the serial on Jodha and Akbar made by Balaji is far better than this medicore fare. I never thought that I will type this kind of line for a Shaheer show. My bad luck

I find more of Dev than Salim in Shaheer. He did a wonderful job in krpkab. With the script there, he got to showcase variety of emotions and feelings with nuance and grace. There was a sort of untold elegance in the whole series where you could connect with that character and the feelings of that character.

Here Salim is not someone whom you can relate to. Even if it was not Akbar and Mughal empire, even if it was a mythical prince, still his behavior is unacceptable. No prince would act that way with his father who is the king. Nor with a girl who is supposed to be the maid. There is no basic logic that relates to royalty and royal family.

This series feels like a badly written fan fic version of Mughal e Azam. 😆 😆

The makers should maybe crowdsource a proper script. There are many good writers on IF and elsewhere. 😉
The promos, sets, launch etc. were so grand and larger than life that this is a serious disappointment. What a shame, considering the cast includes some great actors who are going to struggle to keep this up for long.

Also, what's with the arena obsession? Both Akbar and Jodha face dangerous animals (depicted using poor VFX) in order to let off steam. 😆

Why can't they have some decent darbaar intrigue and meaningful conversations between characters?

The makers have redefined the saying "All that glitters is not gold".

No matter what but I am in love with this serial. This is the first time I m watching any historical show may be that's the reason I don't know the pros and cons of these type of shows. I don't know if it's fast paced or slow but it's actually fantastic ,in my opinion.

@bold,Sonarika has the innocence and petiteness intact in her. It's just that Anarkali's character in itself is a weak one.Sonarika is too powerful an actress for such a role which could have been played by just anyone with a pretty face.
Had it been Mehrunissa instead of Anarkali then it would have been worthy enough of an actress of Sonarika's calibre.

And what is there in Anarkali's character? She is like any other ordinary FL who is a bechari abla naari and who needs protection. So yeah just any actress could have played this role. There was no need to rope in an actress with a powerful screenpresence.

@red,Elder? She looks like a kid in front of Shaheer lol😆

Anarkali is not an abala nari..Atleast K Asifji did not project her so in Mughal E Azam. She defies even Akbar to uphold her love for Salim. She just refuses to bend before Mughal Badshah and succumb before his power by compromising on her love for Salim. I feel the song that remained fresh in memory of every one till now Pyar Kiya to darna kya ..conveys her integrity, charecter and dignity. No way the charecter is less in stature ..It is the good fortune if one gets such a role to play.
I completely agree with the thought that Sonarika did not suit the role. Some one who is fresh with no image would have done better. The innocence is missing though she tries hard. Sonarika is wonderful as Parvati and gorgeous in Prithvi Vallabh. But as Anarkali she is miscast. My view.
