Now of course there are exceptions but for one thing, I would rather see D-sir do his own style then do some contemporary or classical just to show others he can. Who cares about others. he tried an other style, and got eliminated 😆 want me to remind you what big ruckus it created everywhere?

Yup I know about Punit and Mayuresh. And this time, Crockroaxz, Mohena, Neerav were somehow related to Terence too 😆 one is in top 18, other is standby 😕

Oh and I forgot Parvez, Jack and Vandana!! They were so good too. Every dancer automatically becomes better if he/she is in TKT...most of my faves from season 2 were from TKT. But only my non-fav had to win 😒😆

Actually most classical dancers also find it very hard to do styles outside their forte, esp doing non-Indian styles like Hip-Hop, Contemporary, etc.. I agree that the same kind of difficulty factor exists for Hip-Hop dancers to try other styles because they are used to apply the locking mechanism on their joints - didnt have a better way to put it! 😃 Sorry Shakti was your non-fav... I understand... She was my fav, that could be why I dont feel anything bad about her winning... 😊

In DID1, Mayuresh was from TLA. In DID2, both Shakti and Punit were... I am not very sure about Crocroach, maybe he attended TL's dance workshop in Delhi... His style is totally different to that of TL... Neerav, Naren, Shampa et al are from TLA, I know...

In fact I also like to see a classical dancer win DID, though I know public wont vote for them... In DID1, we had Vrushali, and she was prematurely eliminated!! Then in DID2, we had Amrita, Kruti and Tashu, and both Kruti and Tashu were sent home in the early rounds itself.. Amrita strove until top six, but didnt make it to the finale - she was very good in contemporary too, and had shown a lot of versatility.. So now I am not keeping any high hopes for classical dancers on DID3 to at least get into the finale...

They should have specific rounds each week, so that the viewers would be able to judge the skills of each dancer better - same way they have some specific rounds in SRGMP show.. They should have rounds for Indian Classical, Semi-Classical, Bollywood, Indian Folk, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Ballroom, and the like...

true and even contemporary dancers don't find it easier to do other styles, maybe ballet based styles, jazz but i remember karan from karan carling of DID doubles having real difficulty in doing hiphop, bollywood or freestyle, its a matter of adaptibility. Yes some people train in various styles, like amrita, nikitasha and vrushali were trained in contemporary, ballroom jazz beforehand. Those who do mostly one or more than one similarly related style have to fall back to their adaptibility to embrace a new style. Its i think comes naturally. Like some people have flair for languages, they can learn to speak a new language very easily, while some people, who r really smart in their own field struggle with languages. IT has nothing to do with who is better or smarter or the field of their work, study( dance in this case), its purely some inherent ability of the person.Thats one thing great about shakti and D sir: they could learn any new sytle very fast. For D sir it came into fore when he did lil masters .

Yes, Contemporary dancers have the habit of having perfect extensions of their hands and legs when doing classical and Bollywood... So they have difficulty to bring sensuality in their Bollywood numbers... Karan had a problem with his arm too, because of the car accident he had.. I agree that it comes naturally - like how Terence learns a new form and try to make it as nearly perfect as possible... I dont think Dharmesh did the Ballroom choreography for his LM team - remember how he was always outshined by Amrita and Binny in Ballroom dance numbers on DID2... I guess he had assistants since he was already a dance master himself...

Hi akanna

i never knew the biggest Terrence Lewis fan could speak malayalam so well, thanks a lot for reponding and Thanks for the kind words written in malayalam.

Hi Tannistha

Its sad to see very few classical dancers could go pass the final audition,No one can explain why good dancers like tashu and kruti were shown exit doors sooner, they deserved to stay longer.

Hi all

I am happy to see so many passionate dance lovers responding.i used to read every post related to DID daily in IF but never felt like commenting, coz after first few posts bashing starts,i really dont understand the reason every on have different likes and dislikes, favaourite and non-favourites,we cant compel any one to like someone right ,

For me everyone who made it to 100 are gud dancers, there may be more versatile dancers than the selected contestants who couldnt make it to top 18 .it was their bad luck only that they couldnt perform well for some reasons on that particular day.i started liking some people in auditions based on different factors talent, expressions ,passion, even their way of talking which has nothing to do with dance

For me the best versatile dancer in the whole DID season is JAI , i really liked his dance,he improved a lot on expressions also, but i didnt like his attitude at all, respects him as a dancer .

about classical dancers
Kruti - was excellent in classical, performed contemporary well, but hip hop wen she performed with jack and parvez we cud see her struggle.kudos to her for having the guts to take the challenge ,she tried her best to do every style,it will take time to be a master
Tashu-also the same.excellent in classical, did justice to other styles also.
i beleive that since both kruti and tashu studied abroad, people had difficulty in accepting them.

about Shakthi and Dharmesh sir what i felt was Shakthi was blessed to be guided under Terrence,he is an awesome teacher with great technical knowledge which will help the students a lot.the other mentors are renowned choreographers and wouldnt stress much on technical aspects, all three mentors are different from each other remo looks for crisp and clean movements, gita on expressions and terrnce-technicality

all these students of Terrence who didnt have technical training did well
amar- did very well through out the season,
Alisha-did an awesome job.
Vandana- she was really gud wen she was in tkt ,and was not tat good wen she came in dks.

where as non trained dancers in other mentors team couldnt do such good jobs
eg binny- she is cute ,gud dancer ,but for me she didnt deserved to be in top 4
sajan-always had a lot of flaws in every differnt style he attempted

So for shakthi -she could do other styles efficiently bcoz she got a perfect mentor who knew her weakness and strengths

dharmesh sir would have done much better and cud have done other styles with ease, if he was in TKT,
even i beleive it is better to be master of one than jack of all trades but since it is did the expectation is to be master of all trades, coz did is huge

about students of terrence ,remo and gita making it to final 18

they are also talented yaar ,
shakthi ,punit did well in auditionsthere transitions were clean in auditions- they were talented that yy they made it
this time i felt mohena is one of the strongest girl contestant
about neerav i was also disappointed watching his audition, coz he did much better jobs in JDJ . i expected a lot from him,i guess he did better in choreo round, which was not shown, masters would have requested to give him a chance, coz he's really talented
raghav-common yaar poor boy couldnt make it,then how can v say tat ,they all got in coz they were in tla or remo and gita knew all of them beforehand etc
but somewhere i felt this time the selections done were not right, might be bcoz they didnt show the entire choreo round and audition round, showed only bits by bits ,and we feel it is rigged

I have a request to DID please show a solo dance of all the three mentors in thier style itself.
this will help people like me who doesnt know about other dancing styles to understand which is a perfect contemporary, hip hop or classical ,

thanks to all for having he patience to read such big posts,

so some photographer dude says she is amazing and suddenly all of us lose our rights to our own opinion? what happens to freedom of speech? shakti is a deserving and good dancer but not above criticism, she needs to work a lot on her expressions and indian semi classical/classical.

Thank you dear... No problems... This forum has a lot of healthy discussions, and most members are friendly too.. So you should keep visiting here and post more... I end up as the only mallu here all the time, so I would love to see more mallus being active in DID forum... There are some mallu connections for DID, and yet I am surprised that this is not a very popular dance show in Kerala...

I agree with ya regarding Jai, that he has shown the most versatility and perfection in his performances during DID1... More than his attitude, it was more of immaturity in him, as he really doesnt have that same attitude in his mind, but doesnt know what to say, whom to say, when to say, how to say, etc... We have had several threads on all that, and let's not drag his name again, as it will only create chaos here! 😃
