But you see, there are some parents out there who don't have your viewpoint or mindset.

Judging from your good writing and internet skills, you're obviously well-educated and have a broader outlook on life.

There are all kinds of people in India, some more traditional than you - I don't blame them, conservatism has been in our beautiful culture for many years...

At the same time, I can understand your perspective.

Jai-Vrushali's execution of that dance was superb...
Sunita-Sidesh dance had some awkward moments but it was not cheezy or vulgar....
If my daughter were to dance in place of Sunita or Vrushali I would not have a problem....Once has to see Dance as a art form and these kids are being respectful dancers imho...

i agree wtih underline part

anyway, i feel dance india dance is losing some of its charm... maybe because all the girls seem to be being kicked out one by one.

it's very systematic isn't it? a bit too systematic.

Chits we all are different human beings and we all have different thought process...Does not mean one is better than other...As they say....We respect everyone's opinions and likes or dislikes...😳
Tunde tunde matir bhinna 😃
I would not want my daughter to do Sunita's nurse's act or Khushboo's what ever act she did yesterday...Both did not have grace nor class IMHO...So I am moderately liberal 😃
As I say Dance is form of Art and it should be looked upon as that...

good topic chits....it beats me that suddenly young girls be it an alisha or sunita or vrushali are suddenly thrusted upon such choreographed songs that took a madhuri or sridevi years to do...as in Beta or Mr India...but young girls coming from the so called middle class homes do it with ease ,finnesse only shows the rat race we all are in......to reach the top in jet set ways.......

Yup .. actually as these all r various dance forms, in the western side u may find a lot of skin show in the poses and dacning style sand the clothers which u need to wear to perfomr those acts..they could add along iwht that an indian style which could be more sexier romanctic wihtout any skin show... but than they didnt try that style..

i mean radha and krishna leela as a couple dacne woudl looks extremely Indian and have so much romance and so much beauty to it...

bhoomi i agree with u abt the ras leela part but it needs time to perform it it cant be done in span of 3 min by students as u need to explain it well for the meaning to come out.

as far as jai and vrushalis act is concerned i liked the way it was performed with out makin it look vulgar

vulgar was sunitas nurse act she had the total vulgar look
