Adarsh pulled over wondering what work Suhasini had in that place. They have not reached her office yet.
"It's too hot today. Let's have some coconut water "
Suhasini said getting out of the car.
"You wait inside the car Mom. I will get it. "
Adarsh said.
"No it's fine. We can all go and sit there "
Suhasini said pointing to a raised platform under a tree where the other customers of the coconut seller were sitting.
"You know I too had my share of street food during my college days. Ah.. those days. Everyone is a rebel at that age. You want to change the world, follow the path less traveled ...but slowly the realities of life set in and the idealism take a backseat."
It seemed that Suhasini was talking to herself. She had gone back several years in the past.
Adarsh brought three tender coconuts as they seated themselves.
"Anyways , tell me how did you figure this out? "
"I noticed that you were behaving distant mostly when there are many people around. U scolded me about the company losses in front of the whole staff of the firm whereas you could have done it at home or privately in your chamber. Also you shouted at the client that I sent to you in the court premises where so many people were around. And lastly I got an offer to join the rival firm. I am sure you must have known about it. But you kept quiet. This made it clear that you wanted me to leave the firm. But why? "
Swadheenta said
"Swadheenta thinks this has got something to do with Dad and the judicial enquiry"
Adarsh added
"Yes Mom, even though I can't connect the dots but my gut feeling has been telling that there is some connection. So we decided to talk about it directly with you "
Swadheenta declared
"I must say that you are going a long way, Girl. Your gut feeling is right. ...listen, I know that both of you are very righteous. That is why you would want every guilty person to face the deserved punishment even if it is your own father. But you know what.. I love this man a lot. I had loved him when he was a bright eyed young man with big idealistic dreams. I have loved him through every high and low of life. And I still loved him when he became a slave to his ambitions, following the orders of his political bosses even though it went against his conscience. Now at this juncture of life our existence has become so entwined with one another that his victory becomes my victory, his sins my sins and his punishment my punishment. So I won't be able to see him languishing behind the bars or facing the humiliation of being terminated from his job. I want to give him one last chance ...Adarsh, I want to give you back the father you have always looked up to, who has been your idol. The strong man who walks with his head held high, not the one who is unable to meet people in the eye. Are you with me on it.? I promise that I won't ask you to do anything that will make you question your convictions.
Adarsh and swadheenta looked at each other. Then Swadheenta said,
"We are with you . I know that even if we decline, you would still go ahead with your plans. Tell us what we have to do. "
Suhasini smiled.
"There is one condition. Some of my actions would not look fair or right in your eyes but you are not going to question me about it. You got that? "
The couple nodded
She then produced an envelope out of nowhere. The envelope was not with her when they had left the car. She handed it to them and said,
"Great then. You see,It has been almost a year year since your wedding and you two haven't even gone for your honeymoon. So it is my duty to send you off for one. Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. I have talked to Jaya about it. She will book the room in the resort for you. And about this envelope, open it only when you reach there. "
Swadarsh didn't know how to react. They could still not believe what they just heard
"Honeymoon ??? "
