OTH S5 Discussion thread (Spoilers added)

Welcome back... to Tree Hill

It's been seven long months since the last time we saw a fresh episode of our favorite teen show "One Tree Hill", a show about the lives of a group of five kids living in the small town of Tree Hill. The group consisted of a group of different characters; we had the emotional writer/basketball player, the married basketball star, the artsy girl, the nerdy girl and the smart/slutty girl. Of course there were also the backup characters like Mouth, Skills, Rachel, Junk, Fergie and of course Bevin. We went trough a lot of adventures with these characters over the four years… And now we will get brand new adventures as the show skips nearly five years into the future and the characters venture in the life of adults!

Previously on One Tree Hill:

In the season finale of S4 everything was concluded seeing how the show ended the High School years. Lucas finished his novel, Peyton got an internship, Haley and Nate had their baby, Brooke graduated and went to L.A. for the summer. Karen had her baby and named her Lilly after the flowers she saw in a dream with Keith. And finally, Dan was put behind bars.

Fast forward four years on…

Lucas Scott

Previosly: Six years ago Luke was an outcast with only one real friend in his life but as his life progressed everything changed. He became a popular jock with an emotional side. And through it all he gained new friends and new father, well almost. When we left Luke he'd written a novel about his life in Tree Hill and about everyone in his life.

New personality and problems: When we return he will be a published author who returns to tree Hill to train the Ravens. Like everyone on this new journey he will face a lot of difficulties, among them the troublesome star of the basketball team, Quentin, who Luke will need to straight out Another thing he will have to overcome is his writers block while trying to write

Lindsay - Lucas' Editor and Girlfriend

his second novel because his editor is pushing him to do it quickly. One of the reasons for his return is to overcome his trust issues by facing his old life, according to Chad Michael Murray.

Love interest(s): He will have a new love interest; his girlfriend and editor; Lindsay.. However, you can expect more angst in his love life; as always he seems to be interested in Peyton again, as mark Schwann explained. So we can look forward to a new love triangle… There will also be some "seducing" scenes between Luke and Jamie's nanny.

Peyton Sawyer

"I miss the person I used to be"

Previosly: When the show first started Peyton was an emotional girl hiding inside a popular cheerleader. Throughout the show she faced a lot of difficulties like losing her biological mother, being shot in the school shooting, being attacked by a psycho stalker…etc… but she got through all of that, mostly by the help of her friends and family. When we left her in the finale of season 4 she was leaving for L.A. to work as an intern at a music company.

New Old personality and problems: Peyton, personality wise hasn't changed one bit. She's still the music loving emotional artist trying to make everything perfect for everyone, including herself. She is having troubles at work seeing how she's still at the bottom of the music

Lucas and Peyton are far from over

ladder, still an "assistant to an assistant". She comes back to Tree Hill and opens up Tric again, where she books some new bands to play. Surprisingly enough, Peyton doesn't seem to have any emotional problems like she did for the past few years, her only goal is to book as many bands as she can and make as many of them successful as she can.

Love interest(s): Some fans have hoped for the return of Jake, but that isn't happening; like I said: no emotional problems for our Peyton this season - her only love interest will be Lukas… later in the season.

Nathan Scott

Previously: In the start Nate was your typical jock, however, throughout the course of the show and after meeting Hales, he changed a lot. Nathan got to go to a college at the end and everything, seemingly, worked out for him and Haley.

New personality: He has changed a lot… After getting into a fatal fight in a bar, Nate got thrown out a window and he was left handicapped. After that everything changed for him and Haley had to support the family. The sneakers brand he was supposed to have fell

through because of the accident and Nathan fell into alcoholism and depression. At the start of season 5 he will fall in so deep that Hales will actually take little Jamie to Luke's house so he wouldn't see Haley and Nate fighting, and she threatens to leave him because of all of his problems and not trying to fix them.

Love interest(s): His love interest will be Haley, and nothing will change, however, they will be having some marital problems, and the new nanny will be interested in Nathan.

Haley James-Scott

Previously: Haley has been a nerd, a tutor, a rock star, a hostage, a mother… almost everything throughout the show and in each and every situation she remained true to herself and was very mature. When we left her off, she wasn't sure how her life will go on.

New personality: When we see Haley she will be the most mature of the gang, being a mother to a 4 year old, while maintain a job as a teacher at Tree Hill High, yes, she will be a teacher, like she dreamed of (well that and being a rock star). She will be

the real soccer mother doing everything for her son, and she will also be having some problems with the new basketball star Quentin (yes, the same one as Luke). She will still rely on her friends a lot, especially on Luke. She and Peyton will (after a while) be having those nice conversations we've been missing and talks about music which we last saw in season 2.

Love interest(s): Her love interest will remain the same, but Jamie will also be sort of a love interest seeing how she will be taking a lot of care of him… etc…

Brooke Davis

Previously: At the start of the show Brooke was just another one of those slutty girls, but she changed and learned a lot about life, love… and loss. When we left her off she was going to L.A. to see her parents and she was the godmother to Jamie.

New personality : It seems that when she returns she will have lost her true self in all the limelight of N.Y. and success. She won't have any real friends, but instead an assistant and a C.E.O. (who will in fact be her mother). She will just be going trough the motions until her return to TH stirs things up. When she returns she will

buy Karen's Caf and open a "C/B" store there. I believe that when she returns to TH and sees all of her old friends and familiar things she will remember her old personality and will become a better person because of it.

Love interest(s): Her love interest will be a new bartender working at "Tric", but she will also have a few (fake) flings with some people in N.Y. She will no longer be against Leyton and will actually support it all the way.

Other things about the new season

Mouth is chasing his dream

Mark Schwahn said how this season will focus on the main five after a few seasons of focusing on everyone almost equally. Of the older cast members the only returning character will be Dan but the others will probably guest star. It has been confirmed that Whitey will re-appear. Rachel will return as well, but somewhere later in the season. We will meet Brooke's mom, Victoria, after four season of absence and some new people like Carrie the nanny, Millicent, Brooke's assistant, Oqen the new bartender at "Tric", Lindsay, Luke's editor, Alice, Mouth's boss and Quentin the basketball star.

However, even though the main five will have more screen time and more focus, Skills and Mouth will also have an important part in this season.

This season sounds like it will be ace. Everything about it is great and it sounds well thought trough. All we can do now is wait for the 8th when we get two brand new episodes after a seven month wait!

Epi 501 - 4 Years, 6 Months, 2 Days - 01.08.08

Season 5 starts out with all the "kids" in different parts of the country. Brooke is in NYC as a famous clothing designer... Peyton is in LA working for a record company... Haley and Nathan are in Tree Hill as Haley teaches at Tree Hill High School... and Lucas is an accomplished writer. In this episode... all the "kids" come back to Tree Hill for one reason or another. Brooke is deciding if she wants the glamour life or if she wants to settle down. Lucas gets writers block and decides to come back to Tree Hill. And Peyton quits the record company. Nathan lost his dreams of playing basketball which sends him into a depression. He starts drinking a lot... and in the first episode will get into a fight at a bar. During the fight he is thrown through the window which the result will change his life in a big way.

Epi 502 - Racing Like A Pro - 01.08.08

- Mouth goes to a TV news station to apply for a job but it immediately turned down.
- Haley has her first day of teaching at THHS and it doesn't go very well. She has to deal with students acting up and not following directions.
- Peyton tells Brooke that she hasn't been with Lucas in 3 years and that she didn't come back to Tree Hill because of him.
- Lucas has his first basketball practice as Head Coach of THHS with Skills as his assistant.
- Peyton and Brooke go to visit Nathan who is in horrible condition at his house. This is where they meet his son, Jaime, for the first time.
- The girls plan a night out while the guys prep for Jaime's soap box car for the race.
- Haley interviews for nannies and hires Carrie... a young, smart, drop dead sexy female.
- The guys take Jaime's soap box car on a test run and it wrecks.
- Peyton will meet Lucas' girlfriend, Lindsey. And it becomes very awkward.
- Lucas gives Peyton a huge office inside Tric to start her own record label out of.
- Mouth ends up getting a job at a TV station.
- Brooke will purchase a familiar building in Tree Hill to open her own Clothes Over Bros store. This is against the advice of Victoria, her manager.
- Nathan will have a revelation about life... which will end this episode.

Epi 503 - My Way Home is Through You - 01.15.08

- KFed makes his debut on OTH.
- Nathan pays Dan a visit in jail.
- Mouth makes out with his boss!
- Brooke buys a really nice beach house from a woman.
- Peyton offers to sign Jason's band (Federline) on to her new label.
- Peyton engages in a confrontation with Lindsey.
- Carrie seems to make advances toward Nathan.
- Mouth tries to come back to work.
- A furious Victoria shows up at Brooke's new house trying to understand how she bought a house on the company card.

i still have to watch 3 more dvds of season 4 ...but i cant wait till season 5...it seems interesting but its gonna be sad for nathan and haley... 😭 nathan has to change!

There are some major Brooke+Lucas spoiler in episode 505 and 512.

Episode 505:

It will be shown in flashbacks at Lucas's NYC launch party 2 years ago. Brooke shows up at the party and they both go for drinks. Lucas shows Brooke the ring he had gotten for Peyton. Brooke plays around with the ring and the bartender thinks BL are engaged. He puts drinks on the house and BL have no choice but to play along. They both get tipsy after getting drinks for free all around midtown. They reach Central Park when a carriage driver gives them a free ride. The rider asks them about how they want their future to be.
B- We will be a power couple.
L- But still have time for 2 boys and...
B- 1 girl.
L- I will teach little league and
B- I will bake them cookies or well but them anyways
L- We will spend summers in our family beach house
B- and winters in Southern France.
L- But the only thing that will matter is that we will be together.
The driver smiles at them and says, "Success is great but finding someone who loves you back, Thats what true love is really about." The screen fades and all tjat is confirmed is that Lucas leans in for a kiss but Brooke stops him.

Episode 512:

It is revealed that Brooke came to Tree Hill for a reason. The loneliness she has from her success has caused her to want a child. She wants Lucas to be the father. She is still pro-LP but she just wants a kid.It is not said whether or not he said yes but she has asked him. But the problem is that, an alternate scene was shot in which she asks Mouth instead. Mark Scwahn, the creator, is going to decide between Lucas and Mouth by seeing the audience reactions as the show proceeds.

The actual dialogue she says to Peyton-

No I want you to marry Lucas. I just want to be a mother. The kind of mother my mom never was. And I want Lucas to be the father.
