^ You do have a valid point that if we can forgive Damon, then Tyler should be forgiven as well. They haven't made Tyler's character as compassionate as Damon's character until now (at least not for me yet). I still have issues with the way he was with Vicki (not that Damon was any better in season 1 when he was with Caroline). Next year we should be able to see more of Tyler, and he should open up a bit more.

Ohhh I was thinking the same thingg, when i was watching that .. why was Caroline with him for SO long, she was well aware that if he bit her she would die! I was surprised to see her stay for so long.

I totally see where you're coming from Chronic. I don't think Tyler's a horrible guy .. I guess he's sorta another version of Damon as you put it. I just haven't grown to like his character .. But it's definately nice to see them develop their characters though .. I'm waiting for the Tyler to just lose it when he finds out about Mason .. It'll be all so exciting to watch!

Yeah, I agree with both of you....Tyler's character needs to develop moreso...I guess since he isn't a main character like Damon, the writers haven't focused as much on his development as I would've liked....but still, I'd say that so far, he's definitely a better person this season...

I'd also say that Tyler is kind if a cross between Stefan and Damon in some ways...he's a typical 'bad boy' like Damon, but his personality is more towards Stefan in that he's very serious and broody...I personally loved the Stefan/Caroline dynamic that was shown early this season. Stefan actually lights up around her and actually seems to have a personality! I guess Caroline is so bubbly and lively that she can bring even the deadest of people (so to speak) come to life in a way that Elena just hasn't managed to do....I feel that Caroline would provide something similar for Tyler...she can help bring him to life in that sense as well.

From what I understand in the book series, Tyler is actually an evil character and Tyler/Caroline are an evil couple...I like that show hasn't followed that...I prefer them both being more morally ambiguous (but mostly good) and dealing with their own urges of violence together....it's much more interesting to watch.

I like how you pointed out he is serious and broody like Stefan. I didn't know about them being negative in the book, but that might happen. Tyler may turn into a negative character or he may be negative for a while after he finds out about things.

Caroline/Tyler - Will they last for long? Tyler treated Vicki like crap, and I don't know if he will be genuinely in love with Caroline. I bet Caroline's feelings will be a lot more intense for him compared to his feelings for her.

Do they last in the book as a couple? Caroline/Tyler?

tyler and croline was the ONLY good part of the whole of latest vd episode.. the rest was all *yawns*... i loveeee tyler caroline! caroline has gone thru so much development from the start of the show - its amazing! she started of as one of my LEAST favourite character - a character who i foudn sooo annoying... and noww she is my 2nd fav character, right after damon! and vampire werewolf love story - wow just the idea makes me so excited! :D

I really don't know if they last as a couple in the books...I only read in a forum that they get together and become an evil, manipulative, plotting kinda pairing.

I don't really think that Tyler and Caroline will actually get together anytime soon (despite the kiss that was shown b/w them in the preview for the 2nd half of the season). I'm enjoying their friendship for now and I'd like to see their friendship grow to a point where we wouldn't have to wonder whether Tyler will treat Caro as badly as he treated Vicki if they become romatically involved, because he would be well past that...However, If they get together now then I could see those problems you mentioned emerging. Then again, I don't think that relationship would be any more dysfuctional than Matt/Caroline, what with Matt being all hot and cold on her since the first season. And I'd like to think that Tyler is at least somewhat genuinely appreciative of what Caro has done for him after finding out about his secret...

Anyways, I want to see how the writers continue to handle them...they could very well disappoint me, haha...

I've always liked Caroline but I absolutely love her now...she's been amazing this season and has actually become my favourite character in the show. I liked Damon in the first half of last season, but I find him somewhat less compelling as a character now....I also feel a lil' put off by Ian's perpetual weird eye expressions...I think he's doing it on purpose, but I find them distracting now....

I like Caroline a lot more now toO! I also thought she was quite annoying in the first season, always just up in everyones business. Someone mentioned how Stefan lights up with Caroline around - and I've noticed that too! They had some good scenes together ... I can't remember exactly what but I remember watching the two of them and going whoa - Stefan's never like this with Elena.

I've never thought much about Tyler honestly. I dunno what to make of him though the comparisons of him with Damon and Stefan are quite true. I want to see how they further develop him in the show - cuz right now for me he's meh

I thought I was the only one! I never really cared about Tyler and Caroline and I don't like Matt! There's no chemistry between Matt and Caroline, but after the last few episode where Tyler and Caroline have been bonding a lot over the the Vampire/Werewolf thing and then the latest episode just made me REALLY like them! Before; I was just a Damon/Elena fan but now I'm a Tyler/Caroline fan too.
