Tyler and Caroline from TVD

I never expected to like them as much as I've come to lately...both characters were sort of insignificant and even annoying at times last season, but they've honestly become the highlight of the show for me now...

How awesome were their scenes in the latest episode? He was crying in pain (great acting by Michael there!), while she reassures him that everything will be fine and won't leave his side....she sat there beside him for what seemed like a LONG time just craddling him in her arms...It genuinely looked like she would do anything to ease his pain and was there for him even though she knew he could potentially hurt and even kill her when he'd fully transform....it was just so moving...seriously, it was THE most heartfelt moment in the entire series for me (including several 'emotional' Stefan/Elena and Damon/Elena moments)...

Really? They pretty much MADE that episode for me....I felt it was otherwise a really average mid season finale....I was definitely expecting more from the main storyline.

The Tyler/Caroline ship is appealing to me because of the way it's being developed...it just feels so organic....I'm hoping that they continue to build their relationship in this natural way...

I dunno .. I just wasn't feeling them .. I was bored during their scenes. Like it was cute .. The way Caroline stood by him when he was hurting but .. I dunno .. soemthing just didn't click for me.

I'm actually really looking forward to seeing how Tyler is going to take it when he finds out the truth....LOL, gotta love the angst factor there...

Everyone has their own ship preferences I guess....I for one loved them and really want to see how the writers continue to develop them...

Yeah, i did feel that Caroline was acting a lil' stupidly by staying for as long as she did and not telling him about how werewolves can potentially kill vampires....but at the same time I was also glad that someone was there for Tyler this time...Yes he can be jerk at times but I think the show has done well to show us why he acts such a way and he has obviously developed a lot as a character since season 1....He's opening up a lot more now and is willing to let people in. Even Damon can act like a douche (a serial killing douche I might add), but his rare moments of compassion are what makes the audience forgive him for a brief while....he is also a character who's been through all kinds of crap in life which has led to his present behaviour...If damon's 'mean-ness' can be forgiven (to an extent), I feel like Tyler's should as well....at least for now when he seemingly has no one but Caroline to look after him.

As for Tyler being aggressive and Caroline being too sweet...well, I agree that it could've been an issue last season....but this season, she is even stronger than he is (in his human form)...so I don't think of that as a big deal at all really...in fact I'd say that it adds to the intensity of their dynamic...and once again, I'll compare them to Damon/Elena who also share a similar sort of dynamic....and Elena wouldn't even be able to hold her own if Damon were to spaz out and attack her out of anger/frustration/whatever....
