This is not correct.. TN govt showed blatant disregard to the National Currency Symbol.
We don’t see this kind of fight regarding national currency or national currency symbol in other developed nations like US, Uk, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc
I hope since they replaced symbol they will only trade with ppl who understands that symbol I myself from south do not approve this considering rupee symbol is not picked from foreign language but it was picked from sanskrit which is the base of all other languages we have in this country. When entire country is following one currency format every state should follow the same. If they really want to seperate tamilnadu from rest of the country they should pay fine for visiting other states or stop taking help from center.
are they planning for another partition?
why? just why? one day they might just start a whole new currency system just to create rift among the northern and southern parts of the country. people should raise their voices against such moves
They have done many things like this in the past which really doesn't mean anything..like referring union government differently etc..People should dismiss this as well.. Though I do agree with language sentiments better work/debate must be done on that rather than doing things like this which is of no use..
Rejecting nationally accepted symbols is sure shot not the way to promote Tamil language. Tamil Nadu should reject such divisive politics. On one hand DMK has a problem with three language model which could motivate more people from other states to learn Tamil, on the other Stalin's son calls Sanatan Dharma as dengue malaria. What is a language without its culture, it's art forms, it's literature ? What is a better way to make a language reach a larger group than to promote it in schools ?? Changing ₹ to ரூ is certainly not helping Tamil language in any way.
The Tamil Nadu 2025-26 budget’s shift to 'ரூ' from the Rupee symbol (₹) emphasizes Tamil identity, but it feels like a step back from national unity. With the NEP already stirring language debates, isn’t this move risking division over inclusivity?
