You missed the RSS memo that Gyanvapi and Shahi Idgah are not on their agenda. Let the courts do this - hopefully w/ a sense of greater urgency than the Ram Janmabhoomi - and once they're done, let either the Shankaracharyas or other appropriate priests do their pran pratishtha (if that's even needed in case of Gyanvapi)

Oh, there is a whole bunch of culprits, & nowadays, the serials have piled on. This poem is by now nowhere near the top. In fact, even "traditional" serials like BR Chopra's Mahabharat & Ramanand Sagar's Shri Krishna glorified Karna to almost no end, even attributing to him things that he never did (like using the Vaishnavastra on Arjun, when it was Bhagadatta who did it)

LOL true! Another major culprit in literature would be that novel titled Mrityunjaya. It keeps getting quoted ignoring the BORI and KMG texts. smiley36

TV serials starting with BRC took the whitewashing and overglorification to another level. I remember SPMB making Karna's death a sasta ripoff of Amitabh Bachchan's death scene in Deewar. It was hilarious with the bad acting making it worse.

Karna-Kunti sangbad was written in 1900

And Rashmirathi was in 1952

So he is the reason for this over glorification??

Meenakshi Lekhi has written some really good books. I think she also testified in Ram Mandir case. Her newest book on Kashi is going to release.

excellent thread and such a fascinating read.

One hopes that historical proof with ASI report leads to a smooth transition and handing over the temple back .. so that it can be reinstated as a temple…Aur best part of Hindu temples is that all are welcome. So anyone having emotions about current structure can still visit regardless of their faith…
