Cinemas are individual preferences.. What might be trash for one might be treasure for another..

But the heights of hypocrisy and pinnacle of irony are the likes of Dhruv Rathi dissing out Animal after singing waxing lyricals of The Gangs of Wasseypur... If the perception of right and wrong is blurred for the characters of Wasseypur, it might be the same for the characters of Animal..

Just saying, Mr. Rathee...

I don't understand why the reviews are so polarized.

If I like it, then I am a misogynist.... If I don't..... I am a feminist.smiley39 It's like there is no in-between.

Vanga really got what he wanted i.e, these debates around the film that have made it an even bigger success than it deserved to be.

Congress MP Ranjeeth Ranjan said that her daughter walked out of the movie midway having tears.

I am really curious to know how old is her daughter that she started crying during this movie.

Because it reminds me of one of my best friends during early emplyment days (around 20-21y.o.). She was only into watching feel good movies and disney and cartoons etc. And we did the mistake of going to the movie Flight with her - did not realise it was R rated. And then there were a couple of scenes where Denzel Washington really gets it on with a couple of air hostesses with fair amount of nudity. And she started crying smiley6 and it took us a whole day to get her to talk to us again after a few apologies and lots of chocolates as bribe

It seems the MP's daughter went to watch the cinema thinking it is about domestic and pet animals despite A+ certification, hence the shock..smiley36

Not saying that the movie is for faint-hearted, neither justifying the disturbing elements that exist in the movie, but how come that the MP is slamming the movie simply based on her daughter and her friends' opinion? Shouldn't parliamentary discussions be based on wider opinions?

So now we are shaming young women for having natural and visceral reactions to watching abuse and misogyny glorified onscreen?

And frankly, Ranbir in the nude would traumatize me as well. There used to be an era where stars never performed nudity and this was left for the C-listers. Ranbir has even crossed this line.

Yes, there shouldn't be an age limit to become desensitized to domestic violence.

People aren't idiots. Just because one white judge in Australia fell for a BS excuse....doesn't mean people can't differentiate between fiction & real life.

It’s more about how the women are treated in the movie and she wasn’t just talking on animal but other movies as well and saying it’s a negative influence since the movie is sending out a misogynistic message. Though her statement came out after her daughter seen this particular movie but she also mentioned other movies mainly those in the south in this video. So it’s her opinion.
