Tilak Varma scores second century in four innings for Hampshire
Varma put together stands of 42 and 20 with Nick Gubbins and Tom Prest respectively, before somewhat stabilising the innings alongside captain Brown. He went past a half-century in the process, his third fifty-plus score in four innings for Hampshire after knocks of 100, 56 and 47 before this game.
When Brown departed, Hampshire were 231-5 but Felix Organ stuck around with Varma. The India international reached his second century for the club in the evening session, tucking Pakistan pacer Mohammad Abbas into the leg side for a single.
This was his seventh hundred in first-class cricket, to go with five half-centuries. By now a regular in the IPL and for the India T20 side, Varma set a new world record last November, becoming the first player to score three consecutive centuries in T20 cricket.
