In the spotlight - Temba Bavuma and Rachin Ravindra

In a top order that has mostly been in top gear, Temba Bavuma seems some sort of a weak link at the moment for South Africa. He has had starts in three of his four innings, but hasn't been able to top 35. As such, Bavuma is an accumulator, but has seemed anxious at different times to break out of that mould. It hasn't worked yet. While there is no threat to his captaincy, he'll want a big score to feel a bit more at ease.

Will he? Won't he? Kane Williamson has walked around with more questions on his fitness and participation during this campaign than he has at any other point in his career. Williamson is not fit yet, but in his absence, Rachin Ravindra has made the No. 3 spot his own. Williamson's presence as part of the leadership group has lent a lot of calm and tactical nous, but he would be itching to return and make an impact. As for Ravindra, he is already making plenty of it.

hope tembu bhai apna jalwa aaj dikha dega. i feel bad when ppl troll him a lot especially cause of his height, and somehow he isnt able to perform in world cup smiley6

Smallish boundaries, pitched usually good for batting, two very good batting units and potent bowling units - New Zealand v South Africa, the humdinger is here! If you are around Pune, grab a seat at the MCA stadium because you wouldn't want to miss this! This is the contest we all have been waiting for after the initial few games into this World Cup. But the Blackcaps have been hit by injuries. Williamson and Southee continue to be sidelined, Lockie picked up an injury last game, while there are some concerns about Mark Chapman too.

Matt Henry, their best pace bowler of the World Cup, had an off day against Australia as Warner and Head lined up for a big assault. Trent Boult bowled pretty well in the last game but he hasn't been as effective as he's been with the new ball before. Without Neesham, Latham had to fill the fifth bowler's slot with Ravindra/Phillips/Mitchell - an area strong teams can target New Zealand with. Does Sodhi come into the picture with injuries in the camp?

New Zealand and South Africa, two teams who haven't won the World Cup but surely among the favourites to lift it this time.

The Proteas pulled off a thriller against Pakistan at Chepauk. They got in Shamsi, who made a great impact with four wickets. They were placed pretty well in the chase but got Pakistan back into the contest and even gave them a sniff at victory by playing some ill-advised shots for conditions at Chepauk. Will they retain Shamsi today as well? Or will they switch back to extra pace option?
