🏏ICC Men's T20I WC 2022 - Qualifiers: Group B-Match 7:Sco vs Ire🏏

Richard Berrington-led Scotland will lock horns with Andrew Balbirnie-led Ireland to play the 7th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 TODAY, in Bellerive Oval, Hobart.

Ireland are on the brink of a second hugely disappointing T20 World Cup group stage exit in as many years, and it would be no surprise if their players were feeling the pressure.

So much is dependent on the potency of their top order batting, who failed to perform against Zimbabwe.

Just as worrying though is their bowling attack, which doesn't look as dangerous as that of Scotland’s, based on the opening round of group games.

The Scots have already successfully kept West Indies shackled, combining discipline with cutting edge and it would not be a surprise if they were to do the same here, so back Scotland to come out on top between these two nations and show that their victory over the Windies was no fluke.

A win could perhaps catapult either team to push for qualification. If the previous games are any indication of how this tournament will unfold, then get ready for a real crackerjack match between the two sides on Wednesday.

Scotland’s batting looks formidable with the likes of Matthew Cross, Richie Berrington, Calum MacLeod, and Chris Greaves proving their mettle at the highest level of the game. The pacers also executed their plans well to restrict the Windies from chasing down 160 in the last match. Mark Watt and Brad Wheal cracked the match open for Scotland, picking up crucial wickets in the powerplay. A solid performance by the bowlers in tandem handed Scotland an unexpected 42-run win.

After rattling West Indies with a convincing win, Scotland get set for another day game at Hobart with a bit of an advantage. The conditions overhead, the ground dimensions and the pitch have been subject of much discussion as the teams try to vie for an advantage.

Test match lengths prove to be successful in the night game for both Ireland and Zimbabwe's pacers but Scotland found success with spin in the day game.

"Interesting to see how the first game went with so many different conditions, not being under lights and being earlier in the day within that," quipped Ireland's George Dockrell ahead of their crucial clash.

After a defeat against Zimbabwe, they are now sailing in rough weather with the group wide open after West Indies' defeat. They'd be hoping for a better batting show than what they managed against Zimbabwe which put them in a position of no-return.

Scotland saw their hero with the bat George Munsey walk off gingerly while fielding and with a quick turnaround time will be hoping that he's fit again for a clash that could potentially put them far ahead in the race.

It is Scotland taking on Ireland. Scotland are fresh from their victory against the Windies where as Ireland would still be hurting from their loss against Zimbabwe as Sikandar Raza's blistering knock blew them away. This qualifying stage has thrown up quite a few surprises and might serve as a an interesting premise for th actual event. Ireland have a simple job. They have to win to stay alive. Scotland know a win here would mean they would be on the brink of qualifying for the next stage. The permutations and combinations before the matches and now have been completely altered. The narrative of a game also has been so random that it has been tough to predict a favorite. Scotland though would be fretting over George Munsey's fitness. Where as Ireland would be hoping no Scottish batter comes up with a blinder.
