I don't see the big deal in Dharmasena's wrong decision (the run out one). And I don't specifically remember, but was Dar's finger up for the LBW before the run out occurred? Anyway there were other umpires who could have advised him otherwise.

Yes but some people are still not satisfied. Even lawyers make mistakes and these people are cricketers. You can't expect them to remember every single rule perfectly. People also expect these umpires to have the best vision in the world. They're fairly aged and you can't expect them to see every small edge. Funny part is some of these people are against DRS. But even with DRS you will never have 100% accuracy. Mistakes will happen and sometimes you will even miss a century because of it. That's the game, deal with it. Bashing the umpires won't help (not directed to people in this thread, just in general).

Yes it was. Even ICC apologized to english team by releasing a press release after the game about an error in umpiring decision.

Everybody make mistakes and if we dont talk abt it then so be it. Once upon a time Umpires were Gods, their decision is line on the stone. But over the years technology has been introduced gradually to minimize human error and getting right decisions. Therez still no such thing as 100% accuracy. But answers dont come if we dont ask the right questions. We r just discussing it. In the end, we deal with it anyways, not losing any sleep.

This thread is not just abt umpires, also abt players and captainship and anything that can be termed controversial. Either that or "chalta hai hota hai, chhod na yaar, bakwas cricket kya dekhna, koi picture dekhte hai.." Each to their own.

A classic case of a controversial rule is the umpire's call in hawk eye DRS. 🥱
W*F you mean by not hitting more than 50 of the stumps? 😡

Bails are dislodged by a simple touch even if its 10% and sometimes even a hard knock does not dislodges it.

Either remove this idiot umpire's call decision or the reviewing team should not lose its referral .

Just like today ZIM are suffering because of that.

Warne was so pissed that he said Umpire pressed the wrong button even after knowing that its completely automatic. 😆

Totally agree. Its is as if letting umpires still have "some of control" for their decisions.. 😆 Hey, ppl r not their to watch umpires' authorities but to see players playing good Cricket.

And once ur DRS fails, then haha, it umpires game again.

Technology failure.. not good but its an accident. Not saying just coz it was in NZ. Bothe commentators were Kiwis and they were angry and said that at least the umpire shud have asked 3rd umpire who can see the reply from many angles to make a decision.. if he cant then thats ok. But on field umpire shaked his head siad nooo, get on with it.
Do u guys remember that huge monkey called Steve Bucknor? If I ever meet him i wud throw an egg on his face and spend a night in lock up. I mean it.

^ who can forget Bucknor and that 2008 Sydney test 😆

OT - Brendan Taylor today ... how in the world did the third umpire "conclusive evidence" to overturn the decision is beyond me 🤪
