Abhijit Satham, son of the original CID, Shivaji Satham, is all set to make his debut on television. Abhijit who will be playing a new generation cop, seems to be following in his father's footsteps as far as his choice of roles are concerned. The new show produced by Yash Patnaik, will go on air by end of December.

Says Yash Patnaik (producer), "Both father and son were very excited when I asked Abhijit to act in my show. They are like family to us. Abhijit is very talented and has the requisite good looks and persona. Besides, he is a very sincere worker. I wonder as to why he hasn't signed on with any of the major production houses. I am very happy that he is making his television debut with my show."

Says a source, "Abhijit has been approached by Balaji and other production houses. But, he wanted to make his debut with someone he is comfortable with. His father and Yash Patnaik have been good friends for a long time and hence he decided to work with him."

The 26-year-old Abhijit has dabbled with ad filmmaking and script writing. He says, "I am extremely happy to work with Yash Sir. I play a new-age cop who is fast, racy and intelligent. I loved the concept of my character."

Adds Abhijit," I have done some theatre in college, as well as in school. So, I'm not entirely new to acting. I am thrilled to be a part of this project and so is my dad."

The actor is brushing up his skills by watching CID and others like Die Hard 4 and Midnight Run regularly.
