Future of CID - your views?

This is what I read on a news site -

"Shailesh Kapoor, founder and CEO of Ormax Media, says, "With shows like CID Crime Patrol or reality shows like Indian Idol in the past, weekends have, traditionally, been a strong point for Sony TV. However, over the last one or two years, the viewership has weakened compared to what they were doing three or four years ago. Assuming this property is a weekend one, it's their chance to grow their viewership there... currently it's a critical thing for them to fix. Earlier, in 2012-13, they were often No.1 on weekends, even if on weekdays they were at 3rd or 4th spot"

It is clear that CID has become boring and not as interesting as it was, maybe in 2012, though even that was not the best of times for the show.

What do you think is the reason for this downfall? We know the stories are bad, we keep communicating that here and some of us keep tweeting to the channel and CVs too. Then why are they failing to read the audience's mind? Why this sudden downfall in 2016?

Please post your views and I am hoping that this will at least come up on Google search and catch the attention of someone who has the powers to take decisions. If possible someone can post this link on FB where some crew members or Sony guys may read...but once there are a few pages full of posts.

Well where to start from there are so many reasons. From Weak storyline, bad screenplay, no research, uninteresting dialogues, boring scenes, sometimes OTT reactions and episodes. No utilisation of good in fact superb actors. Nothing to enjoy as a CID episode I watch the old episodes and I still enjoy them now but these episodes are boring. First when i was young if I couldnt wacth CID on friday I used to get sad, restless, but now soemtimes my family forces me to watch the episode.

But still there can be hope if CID Creative team wakes up and see and improve the basic things required in an investigative serial then CID will rock again!!! 😊

bad story and script, illogical investigation techniques, unnecessary stund scenes, over joke by actors. In earlier days CID team gives importance to script and story but now they want to do more and more episodes

The main problem is that they chose quantity over quality when they went bi-weekly and then tri-weekly and at one point it was 4 times a week.

When it was once a week it was fun to wait for the episode, watch the promo, discuss the promo and then the episode for a whole week. The actors looked fresh and involved in the cases, the fab 5 were together all the time with Vivek and Tasha and it was a nice closely knit team. They destroyed it with greed and mediocrity.

It's like the classic story of the goose that laid golden eggs. It used to give one golden egg a day and the guy wanted all at once so he cut open the goose and killed it! 🤢 The channel and the CVs have done the same thing to this show. 😡

At first FW are living in fantasy & they have misunderstood the audiences.

Directors & writers are mainly at fault behind the degradation of CID. They think changing the characters, showing them behaving like teenagers or coward, insulting the cops by another one is comedy! FW is highly mistaken. They find Pankaj insulting Freddy, Freddy is afraid of Aatma, making him joker, showing flirting every time are comedy!

But comedy doesn't come in this way. We used to laugh at Vivek's pranks, Freddy-Vivek's nok-jhok, Abhijeet teasing Freddy & Daya joining him, Vivek-Freddy-Tasha's communication with Trio with respect & humour...that was actual comedy.

Acp sir & Dr. Salunkhe starts fighting without any reason now! That's not wanted by us. We used to love their teasing. Their small khicha taani...

Abhijeet-Daya's friendship was portrayed simply before. Now they give high speeches on friendship. But we don't this. We love our old Duo who show their concern, care, humour, teasing normally. Not by any big speeches!

CID needs a revamp. But not by changing casts or costumes. They need to hire good writers & directors who can understand the dept of the characters & portray them as they were before! We want the original characters back!

I totally agree with everyone...

Well, I began watching CID quite late... Had only doordarshan at home before that...

What caught my attention was the investigation. I didn't know any of the characters then. I began watching it being interested in the logic and the analysis they did to solve cases. And then I developed an emotional attachment with the characters gradually. That was the time, as others have mentioned earlier, when the storyline used to be quite interesting, they investigation seemed real with giving factual information to the viewers as well, the dialogues and scenes were great, the bonding among all the officers was shown so beautifully. That simplicity is lost somewhere today. I used to be a crazy fan of CID, I still am... But sadly, I have discontinued watching it since more than a year. I watch the old cases once in a while, though and wish those days of CID never ended...

I feel they exaggerate everything these days... Be it the emotions, the action, bonding, the humour... And yes... the love tracks too are responsible a bit for the the downfall I think... I personally didn't like the A-T and and D-S love tracks (don't mean to hurt anyone here, just giving my personal view).

I don't say that these cops should never be shown falling in love. They too are human beings after all. But, the way they showed it was what ruined it. Though I didn't like the love tracks, I would not have hated them so much if they were shown more sensibly. Like the Abhijeet-Shruti track for example... Please don't mind me saying this...

The old days were the days when gestures and expressions too were very important, rather they spoke more than words, unlike today. Not everything needs to be expressed in "long speeches on friendship" as someone has already mentioned.

They need to understand CIDians. We never asked for these filmy dialogues to boast friendship, we never asked for the childish humour they show, we never asked for quarrels without reason... If they think all these things will attract more viewers, they are totally wrong... Even kids as smart enough these days to understand the old form of CID. These additions or changes were not at all required.

I am sorry if I have said something wrong, or hurt someone. I didn't mean to...

I just couldn't hold back what I feel...

The first and foremost thing is that it's useless to open thread posting suggestion and expecting good from FW.
As vis sis open the thread, Firstly FW need to watch old episodes which actually define how beautifully those episode were scripted and presented. For this they need to compare those episodes with recent. These days Actors like HP sir who actually feel great respect for CID is so tired that he doesn't like to work furrher. Even trio looks fed up. FW need to work on effective script, great writer with interesting stories snd innovative ideas. Just once a week is ok but it should be the best level. Freedy sir must be given serious role. And rest agreed with othes point.

I m of d opinion cid shud keep d current cops like famous five, Purvi and maybe Tarika or get some other assistant for DR salunkhe. .. & instead of gettng new officers they shud give gud roles to the current ones... I hope they understand that all the officers equally work hard for the show nt just main three...

Gve gud scenes of main three wid freddie sir, Purvi and nyc forensic scenes.

Another thing..

By adding Aatma crap & supernatural things FW is degrading the cases & quality more. They should focus more on investigation. They can give us a simple normal investigative episode where we can find crime & thriller. We don't wish to watch supernatural stuffs nor supercops in CID. We would love to watch our human cops investigative more.
