Scene 1
We see a flashy programme with gymnastics and acrobats going on in an auditorium. Eventually a magician Zoravar comes up and performs a magic show with his apprentice - his 8 year old son Kukku, to great applause by the audience. He helps Kukku into a wooden box and closes it, after which Kukku turns up from behind the hall, supported by a harness on the ceiling. Zoravar notices a man and lady sitting in there and angrily wishes to get them stop following him somehow.
Scene 2
In the makeup room, Zoravar praises Kukku for his efforts. The man and lady we saw before demanding his business manager Manoj permission to enter the room. Zoravar allows them in and asks the reluctant Kukku to go out with Manoj while he talks. The visitors ask Zoravar to change his mind and offer him money; Zoravar says what they're asking of him is simply not possible, and he'll not change his mind. They start threatening him and Zoravar curtly sends them out. Kukku is worried about the argument, but Zoravar consoles him and says he'll give him ice cream after going home.
Scene 3
The clock strikes 3:30 AM. Zoravar is sleeping at home when he gets a call. He gets angry at the caller and says what he can't do what's being asked, and tells them to stop disturbing him. They apparently tell him to come somewhere and he angrily goes out to settle matters once and for all, ignoring Kukku shouting out to him. Kukku tries calling him in vain. In the morning, Manoj, Zoravar's assistant Chandan and dancer Sandy come to the house, and Kukku cries telling them what happened. They lodge an FIR and try to take care of Kukku, who's refusing to eat until his father comes home. Their show's investors start calling Manoj and he feels that for the show to run, Kukku must take Zoravar's place now. Kukku initially refuses, but then gets an SMS from Zoravar telling him to go perform in the show, and he's held up somewhere and will come there directly. Manoj, Chandan and Sandy are relieved.
Scene 4
The three of them and Kukku are seen waiting for Zoravar in the makeup room. When it's too late and time for the performance, Manoj asks Chandan to take Zoravar's place on stage as nobody will be able to recognize him behind the mask anyway.
Scene 5
The show begins. A dance performance takes place and then Chandan and Kukku come up to perform the same magic trick we saw in Scene 1. However, to everyone's shock, this time Zoravar's body is transported from the harness behind the hall and thrown onto the stage, while Kukku goes completely missing from inside the box. They find Kukku's costume in the back room. A panicked Manoj orders the staff to search everywhere for Kukku, and calls the CID.
Scene 6
Daya sir, Freddy sir, Jayawanti, Karan and Vansh are seen investigating at the crime spot. They notice Zoravar was stabbed to death about 12 hours ago judging by the rigor mortis and dried blood. Manoj informs them how Zoravar had gone missing the previous night after the mysterious call. Daya sir orders Karan to check his phone list. Chandan explains how Kukku is also missing and explains the mechanism behind the trick - Kukku used to get out of the box via a secret door and then get to the back room and come out on the harness. The cops check that room. Manoj explains that two crew members named Genda and Penda (??) used to help Kukku tie the harness, and they're missing now. Daya sir reprimands him for letting them get away, demands for their address and asks Freddy sir to go catch them.
He wonders how the killer managed to get Zoravar's body into the room. They find a wooden chest with blood stains and deduce it was used to transport the corpse. Manoj notes that this chest doesn't belong to them. Daya sir says the killer specially brought the chest for this purpose, even though he could've hidden the body somewhere. Manoj says Genda and Penda were poor guys who cannot afford a chest like this; Daya sir says someone could've used them to get this done, and says they need to find the shop where this chest was made. Freddy sir returns saying according to the watchman, Genda left alone while Penda had taken along some old goods. Daya sir says Penda kidnapped Kukku by hiding him in those goods (sack?).
Scene 7
We see Kukku tied up and crying for his dad in a dark room, while a masked man walks around and taunts him.
Scene 8
In the bureau, Sachin sir informs ACP sir that the call Zoravar received in the night was registered to one Prem Kumar, which has turned out to be a totally fake identity; the killer had called directly in front of Zoravar's house. The last known location of this phone was near the sea. ACP sir construes the killer kidnapped Zoravar right outside his house, and then threw the phone into the sea. The phone from which Kukku had received Zoravar's supposed SMS apparently met the same fate. Manoj comes in with photos of the man and woman who had been arguing with Zoravar in scene 2, and suspects them. ACP sir tells Pankaj to send these photos to all news channels and papers, and says they need to find out more about the wooden chest.
Scene 9
ACP sir, Sachin sir, Pankaj and Divya meet the workman who had built the chest. He says a man and woman, dressed in circus attires so as to look completely unrecognizable, had shown him the photo of a wooden chest and ordered him to build one identical to that. ACP sir suspects these two are from the magic show itself, and decides to hunt them down.
Scene 10
The man and woman from Scene 2 burst into the bureau, angry about their photos being published in the news. ACP sir and Sachin sir inform them about Zoravar's murder, and sharply question why they had been harassing him. They explain that Kukku is actually their son; he had went missing in childhood, and ended up in an orphanage from where Zoravar adopted him. They eventually found out about this and requested Zoravar to return him to them, but he refused. They shocked to learn that Kukku is missing, and request the team to rescue him. ACP sir sternly demands proof that they're Kukku's biological parents. They provide Kukku's birth certificate. ACP sir says they'll find Kukku and then verify their claims.
Scene 11
Daya sir and the others are seen questioning Zoravar's assistants and team about the man and woman who had gotten the wooden chest built. Daya sir receives a phone call that an injured Kukku was found and admitted to the hospital by some responsible man. Manoj, Chandan and Sandy request permission to go meet him, and Daya sir agrees but then calls the hospital to tell them not to let anyone meet Kukku until the CID gets there. He asks Freddy sir to inform Kukku's biological parents about this.
Scene 12
At the hospital, Kukku's parents are seen requesting the doctor to meet him and fighting with Manoj and the others regarding him. Daya sir, Mayur, Nikhil and Shreya arrive and the doctor tells them Kukku will soon regain consciousness. The man Sundar who found him informs that Kukku was found in some jungle. Daya sir praises him and asks him to take them there to investigate. He allows Kukku's parents to see him and orders Mayur to stay there to make sure no one visits Kukku.
Scene 13
Daya sir and team arrives at the jungle and after searching, finds the house where Kukku was held captive. Nikhil finds a bloodstained knife, which Daya sir construes was used to attack someone there. Shreya finds a shoe, which Daya sir recognizes as Zoravar's; his body had only one shoe. He says Zoravar must've come there and was attacked with the knife. Daya sir gets a call saying Kukku has regained consciousness, and orders Divya to send the knife and shoe to the forensic lab.
Scene 14
Daya sir shares some sweet moments with Kukku (easily the best scene of the episode) and asks him about the kidnappers; Kukku says they were evil, and he doesn't recall them properly. Outside, his parents and assistants request Nikhil to let them meet Kukku. Nikhil informs Daya sir; on hearing that Sandy is there, Kukku requests to meet her, and Daya sir agrees. They all meet him; Kukku is irritated to see his parents as he saw them arguing with Zoravar; Daya sir tells him they're good people and signals Shreya to take them outside. Kukku says he needs to go for the magic show; Daya sir reassures him and goes outside to tell his parents that it's not the right time to tell the truth to Kukku, as he's recovering and they've not yet informed him about Zoravar's death. The parents thank them.
Scene 15
In the bureau, Sachin sir arrives with forensic reports which say that the dried blood on the knife was Zoravar's, and fingerprints of a criminal named Lalit were found on its handle. They find out that Lalit had been arrested for small thefts, was released last year and currently runs a tea stall in the Ambawadi chawl. ACP sir decides to pay him a visit.
Scene 16
ACP sir, Sachin sir and Divya visit the tea stall and are told by Lalit's younger brother Shyam that Lalit left the tea biz a month ago in his hands and left without explanation, though Shyam overheard him telling someone on phone that he's going to do something big. He gives them his number, and ACP sir warns him not to contact Lalit or tell him about their enquiry. He asks Sachin sir to trace the phone's location.
Scene 17
Kukku is seen rehearsing for his show, and expressing to Daya sir about his nervousness and tension. Daya sir encourages and motivates him, and feels something is going to happen during the show. He, Freddy sir and Jayawanti watch the show as Kukku performs to much applause. Daya sir gets a call from Abhijeet sir about Lalit's partner, and he orders Jayawanti and Freddy sir to evacuate the hall. Daya sir comes forward and says they've found out who the culprit is. Sandy tries to escape on hearing this, but is captured and slapped by Jayawanti. She confesses that she had been asking his help to steal diamonds from a museum, but he refused and thus she kidnapped and killed him out of anger, and then decided to use Kukku.
It's revealed that before the show began, Kukku had come running to Daya sir behind stage crying that he'd received an unknown call ordering him to steal those diamonds, failing which Zoravar will be murdered. Daya sir informed Kukku with a heavy heart about Zoravar's murder, and requested him to do as told. Back in the present, Kukku expresses sadness at Sandy's betrayal. She begs him for forgiveness. Daya sir says she'll be severely punished, and Jayawanti takes her away. Kukku's parents arrive and Daya sir tells him the truth at last. Kukku agrees to go to them if they allow him to continue with the magic show; they readily agree and reunite with him. Daya sir tells them to take care of Kukku and agrees to visit him every week.
