Well, a lot of times the promo shows parts from old episodes. It does happen that the two turn out to be different things nowadays. 😕

Promos help us to get an idea about the episode. It never matches with the episode.

Yes, but a lot of times the promo turns out to be much better than the episode itself. Sometimes after watching the promo, I have this expectation which is not met by watching the episode.

Just look at Aakhiri Chunauti promos and the series. There is a hell and heaven difference.

Not just AC, but Abhijeet Ke Ateet Ka Raaz wasn't too good either. The promos were great and the episodes were pretty good, but they didn't match up to the promos.
