last year in january...our neighbours' house (on the 1st floor next to our house on the right side) got broken into by thieves...but the police didnt take any action bcoz they were in cahoots with the thieves who were the local drug-addict lads....the police came nearly 2 hrs after the theft report,walked into the burgled house without any intention of investigating...asked some lame questions feigning careful police interrogation....and went away never to take a second glance or give a second thought to the case....everyone knows the police is corrupt but no one bothers to do something about it...same thing happened when our brand new car was stolen from beneath our house in the driveway around 3 years ago....blessed were we since dad had the foresight to take out the car papers from the car...otherwise even the insurance recovery would have been rendered difficult and tedious...SUCH IS THE PLIGHT OF THE CHANDIGARH POLICE!
