I will tell you which case this is. I have seen this case only once and remember everything about this. This was Viren's last episode.

It is something like this -

Pavan Malhotra is a criminal, but in the past he had saved Viren's son from an accident. At that time Viren didn't know that Pavan is a criminal.

During an investigation, they come upon Pavan and I think Viren tells ACP that he knows this guy and explains to ACP about the accident in flashback. ACP says that now he is a criminal, so he has to be arrested.

Viren says that it is his son's birthday and tells ACP that he wishes to go home early. ACP appreciates that and gives him permission to leave.

When Viren reaches home, he finds Pavan in his house. His wife and son are taken hostage. Pavan tells Viren that he'll hide in his house as cops are looking for him and they wouldn't search a CID officer's house. Viren, in a weak moment gives in.

Later ACP notices that Viren is behaving strangely and somehow comes to know that it is possible that the criminal could be hiding in Viren's house.

Daya and ACP set out for Viren's house.

Pavan in the meantime asks Viren to take him to a place where he cannot be found by the cops. Viren agrees and they both leave in Viren's vehicle.

ACP and Daya reach Viren's house, where Viren's wife starts crying and tells the truth to ACP. aCP and Daya try to catch up with Viren.

While driving, Viren regrets having shielded a criminal and is reminded of hs duty. He stops the vehicle. Pavan points a gun at Viren. At that time Daya and ACP arrive there and Pavan is arrested.

Viren submits his resignation for having failed in his duty. ACP asks him to stay in CID and asks him to take a transfer. Viren looks at the CID building for the last time and leaves.

thanks visrom...wow, the case sounds interesting...when will they air all these in India? and Viren actually resigned and left...no other CID officer has gone this way
