Bit late, there are power cuts over here again.. I think the overall plot itself was fairly good except that the culprit was very predictable, but the main problem, as already mentioned, is that Freddy's kidnapping was not handled with anywhere near the intensity he deserved. I agree with what has been said, a senior officer of the team (13 years!) being kidnapped is a very serious thing and some of the team didn't even seem to know about it.
One thing I liked yesterday was ACP sir and Dr. Salunkhe acknowledging in the lab that the kidnapper likely wants them to stop their regular case solving because of the kidnappings, but they're not going to do that. That is understandable indeed, but I think giving equal importance to the kidnapping case and showing concern for how that investigation is going is also vital. Which the writers failed to do IMO, that's where it let down, especially yesterday when it was a very prominent and important member who was kidnapped.
I think the parallel case was fine, the culprit was predictable but the story and investigation was pretty well done (I especially liked the dentist parts). Abhi sir was largely missing yesterday but great in whatever scenes he was in, and Daya sir was really fantastic... his broken expression when they discover Freddy's ID card in the burnt body was so realistic and heartbreaking. 😭 ACP sir was fantastic again and showed amazing leadership throughout the episode. Sachin was alright, Tasha had lesser screentime but was really great wherever she was, especially the final scene. But I think Vivek was the absolute star yesterday, not only were his stunts both in the kidnapping scene and the disguise scene brilliant, but his guilt for not being able to save Freddy sir was so realistic and well performed that I was really impressed. Hats off to this man, heera hai ye. 👏👏👏 How I wish he gets more to perform like this, he's really so talented and has so much potential.
The kidnapping scene itself was very well done, although like mentioned I think it was unrealistic Vivek didn't just shoot at the car and stop them. The forensic scene, apart from the unnecessary gory dissection scene, was much better and the interactions between ACP sir and Dr. Salunkhe were properly done, which is a plus point during this series IMO. I think the lighting is being well done these days. Also noticed the amusing promotion of EKLKBK in the dark room's TV. 😆
I think the suspense and dread was well built but like mentioned an equal importance for the kidnapping cases and concern for that, both explicitly and subtly throughout the episode, was really important and they dropped the ball there. But either way, I look forward to the next episodes (which I probably won't be able to watch sadly, holidays getting over soon, so it's Youtube again), the precap looks interesting. I hope the burnt body scenes are inspired by the Talking Parrot ones and they show equal concern for Freddy sir too. About time!
