@chinnu - most of the time when CID team is at the lab to get some information, we already have some idea that what forensic experts are going to tell. proper use of medical, chemical and other forensics would definitely increase the charm of the show. though i agree that they need to work on this aspect. but considering cases coming up these days, rite now these issues are of minor concern, they first have to work on their scripts, direction, screen play and all other stuff

I remember in some of the older episodes Dr. Salunkhe mentions the names of gastric fluids and some poisons (arsenic, etc.) fairly accurately, but somehow, slowly, it came down to either generic descriptions (mostly just the effects of the poison/chemical, not naming it), or mentioning some technical compound but leaving it unexplained. The details are actually quite easy to look up and implement into the story, and give a much more authentic feel to the episode, wonder why they stopped doing it. Part of why I got interested in medical science was the older forensic scenes.

I think they did mention the formalin preparation used to preserve the corpse in yesterday's episode briefly (can't remember if it was accurate, I was really drowsy at that point), but I surely think it wouldn't be practical in a wooden coffin!

exactly, formalin preservation requires glass container, and specimen need to be totally dipped in the solution

Hehe, indeed. I don't want to deal with human corpses any more than necessary! 😆

nah.. we dont need to deal with corpses actually, but this subject itself is 🤢. i wonder how it seems so interesting on CID and the worst part is studying about poisons

yeh that was what abhijit was telling daya in 1st scene of sr inspector abhijit.

i agree that the episodes should be both technically correct and entertaining

I find studying poisons interesting in theory, but seeing their effects on a human is sure gross! Indeed I realized it seems more intriguing in CID than in reality. But I'm certainly not going to specialize in this one, lol. Plain practical medicine is so much better.

in this episode it was necessary to say what that chemical is. Chemistry is a very important in forensic science i think. They cant avoid zoology , botony and even maths. It will make the show interesting...all the science truths.

I was a science student once 😊 and i love medical science. But i was better in maths and thus selected the eng. field. Good to have three doctors here in forum.

Dear doctors...i have a doubt. In spitting cobra episode it is shown that abhijit is free from poison. But i heard that it is impossible to recover its venum. Is it true?

They did mention the name of the chemicals though. Probably people don't remember it because it was mentioned by Tarika.😆
