I feel very very lucky to have been a kid in the 80s and to have grown up watching beautifully crafted TV shows that truly helped us face challenges. Be it Mile sur mein ra tumhara, Ramayan, Buniyaad or ek kahaani it spoke volumes for all the high ideals to be achieved and th eefforts that go to do so.
They also showed us that life is fun as well with serials like Yeh Jo Hain Zindagi to see all the remakes is disgusting. Chocolate heroes and candy heroines are not what is making this country.
All my school friends we still discuss these serials and the turns our life has taken even now be it FB of e-mails or face - face meetings.
At least we have forums like IF to get the new generation a taste of what it was to be a TV watcher back then. All this achieved without a load of channels as it is now😊

^^ Yes, I just love Arun's portrayal of Shri Ram in this sequence... you can totally see what turmoil this is causing him on the inside and how he's struggling to dabaao it because of his duty 😭 Almost all of his scenes in these Lav Kush episodes have that element of restraint that proves his immense talent, especially the song when Sita Maa leaves for the forest - Vidhna tere lekh kisi ki samajh na aate hain, Ram-Siya yug yug ke saathi bichhde jaate hain. If anyone else wants to discuss this in greater detail somewhere... do join us there ;)

Btw did anyone follow the serials Shah Rukh did during the 80s, like Circus and all? How was he in them? Was there anything extraordinary, indication that he would turn into the cultural phenomenon that he is today?

Yesterday DD national aired byomkesh bakshi between 10-11 pm IST.I checked todays schedule but It is not there for today..may be they air it on every tuesday.
Also Zee smile channel show Rishtey serial every sunday 10 pm.And they are not showing the episodes according to original air dates.

I was watching Byomkesh Bokshi yesterday... the case was " Chorabali " (quick sand) ...

I hv read all the Byomkesh Stories... Chorabali is a nice one... really good as a suspense thriller... The episode was executed nicely...

i had read the story first time some 5 years ago... I loved the ending... but I was not connected with CID then...

but now... after being a CIDian, I dont like Byomkesh intentionally causing the death of Kaligati, the culprit...

The concept "An Eye For An Eye, A Tooth For A Tooth" is really a crime... after watching CID, I must say, Byomkesh is a Criminal!!!!

@darkknight
ya I too found byomkesh's behaviour irksome in the end..I was hoping that this would be a plan to catch the culprit or the culprit might have only injured.
After watching that scene I could see ACP telling "kanoon ko apne haath me lena bhi ek gunah hai"!!😆
