Some Serious Debate--PHAANSI

Well we all know that Acp is fond of saying tumhe phaansi hoga....
But guys.... are u pro-hanging?

Well if yu look at this from both sides, you will be forced to be in a dilemma.

I am against death as a punishment. According to me, the best form of punishment is life sentence... What will happen after giving death to someone? Who can benefit from it? And I always feel even law and justice do not not have the right to take someone's life away. I know some criminals take others' lives, but we shud be more civillized and shud not stoop to their level!!

Well people, I have just opened a tiny discussion dats all. Just sharing my feelings... What are your opinions? Feel free to not reply if you dont want, I just felt like sharing... no offense meant....

Funny think not serious CID Mumbai is branch of our show. ACP is giving Phansi orders since 1997 or 1998 but no phansi in whole Maharashtra since 1995. sorry sir your orders not followed. I know its just show. But just sharing when I learned about above news what was my first reaction thought of ACP's order

to say the accused will get phansi in every episode is quite unrealistic.
India hasn't carried out the capital punishment in so many years.

Well I'm diverting a little from the topic but AJMAL KASAB HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO DEATH.

Criminals hardly ever get hanged in reality ya... It's a sentence given very rarely and only to hardcore criminals. But I must say, I am not against hanging. A life sentence in jail means a cause for celebration for all those criminals. Because, when a life sentence is issued, the criminals have the scope of getting released someday. They would keep applying for a court re-judgement and someday they will be released. Or, perhaps once everyone has forgotten about case, someone influential will just do their thing and get them released. Actually this is what happens most of the time in India. I think hanging is the only punishment that every criminal is scared of. If a criminal thinks that he's going to get a life sentence in jail, he would still commit that crime. On the other hand if a criminal knows that he is going to get hanged, he would definitely get scared and maybe even turn away from committing that crime...

@ sunny U have misunderstood me. am not referring to CID at all! I just metioned Acp because it of his lines. Actually am talking about the serious issue of capital punishment

so guys... do u support capital punishment. In my opinion kasab just deserved life sentence. how will his death help? he was not the only one involved in d horrible attck! there were others too! and the mastermind needs to be punished too!

@ drilabh - If one criminal gets hanged, it's like giving out a warning to other criminals like him. That is the case with Ajmal Kasab too. Hanging him is like a warning to others like him....

IMO, Phaansi is nothing uncivislised.... I agree that we humans dont have the right to take anyone's life.. but if someone takes that into his hands, then we need to do the same..we cant have mercy on merciless ppl... Now moving on to Kasab... what i feel is the punishment that he has recieved is appropriate...

@drilabh, u said whats the use of death sentence..no one is benefitted....But then whats the use of even life sentence? The ppl who are dead are not gonna return!! Its just that a criminal soo merciless doesnt deserve to exist on earth!! If he is let off, then there will be thousands more Kasabs born everyday!!! At least now, some ppl will think twice even b4 commiting such brutal crimes!!!! No offence meant to anyone guys...just my opinion!!!

Not giving immediate faansi to terrorists poses another danger. The others will simply hijack a plane and hold the entire nation to ransom demanding his release. Heard of the the Kandahar plane hijack in 1999? Maybe some of you were kids and may not know/remember.
