Tragic incident...

I want to share a very tragic story that really happened to someone I know. I was really sad and upset when my mom told me about it today. I'm not sure if I should really post this here, but the incident somehow reminded me of our CID team. Had the same incident happened in the series, the tragedy never would've happened... I know we get to hear these kind of stories everyday in the news, but I wanted to share it with you as it happened to someone I know.

My uncle is a doctor and he has a friend who is a pediatrician. I used to go to him when I was little. And now my nieces and nephews go to him. He is like our family doctor. He is married with a son and a daughter. It seems he is a real workaholic. So his wife got really depressed as he wouldn't give any family time. So one day, that wife took her daughter and drove away to the outskirts of the city. Once there, she made her daughter drink poison and then drank poison herself. The others in the family and the doctor somehow got a doubt on her and started looking for her. When they finally found the car, the little girl was dead and the wife was admitted to the hospital and she survived. And the wife didn't even get arrested or anything.... her dad was very influential and so she got away with such a huge crime! I mean, if she was depressed with her life she could have ended her own life right, why kill the little girl?! The doctor ofcourse divorced her...

This incident happened about 2 years ago, but my mom told me about it just today.

What do you people think? Do you think the wife should have been behind the bars....

Its story from India. In India committing suicide in crime equal to attempt to murder. If I am not wrong law is there about it. She has not only tried to kill herself but had killed her daughter.

Yeah there definitely is a law against suicide... that lady should have been arrested for two crimes, not one. Murder of her child as well as attempt of suicide.... but like I said, she got away with it, thanks to her influential dad.

it's tragic truely, but it's not any rare case! don't know about the other states, but in WB, we read about such incidents in newspaper almost everyday. The lady should be punished because her depression can't be an excuse for murder! but I can't understand one thing, how can a mother kill her own child?

Yeah that's what kills me the most.... that too a five year old toddler who depends on her parents to protect her.

some people are just crazy. They don't have the guts to live in situations which are not favorable, but to take the life of her own daughter is too much. Crazy woman .Like I said earlier in another thread there is so much corruption in India that many khoonis and terrorists are roaming freely in the country thanks to their "connections" with the so called VIP people.

I am so sorry to hear all this. Its really hard to digest that A mother killed her own daughter. I think there is something more to it than what mets the eye.

Actually, yeah you never know what the whole story is.... maybe there really is something more. But whatever the circumstances, killing a small child is too hard to imagine...
