Daya really an orphan?

I just didnt get this... is Daya really an orphan? Cause they showed his brother and his family in one of the early episodes(Case of the injured witness) and they even showed his sister in one of the episodes(Target: CID). I'm just really confused 😕 So what exactly is Daya's history?

The makers have messed up his background to bring emotional turmoil in a few cases. I am so upset with them for doing that.

Earlier he had a family with a brother, bhabhi, nephew and a sister. I am not 100% sure but I think his mother may have been mentioned or seen once.

In the past few years his family has been erased from history and he is now an orphan with no family.

Why? No idea. Just like Insp Michael grew a mustache and became SI Fredericks, Daya became an orphan with no explanation.

When they made up such a perfect story for Abhijeet's background, why did they have to mess it up for Daya? 😒 And sadly Daya's bhabhi is the same one who acted as Dr.Wagle lol

in cid he is having only his sister .i think so his parents and bro died in an accident .

I've explained my version of it....Daya has a brother and a sister. The three of them lost their parents at a young age and landed in Mamta Foundation. I hope it all fits in.

Yeah I guess it is possible...siblings without parents or relatives are considered orphans too right?
