I am not suggesting that over a dozen people roam around every episode doing nothing but engage in pointless talk and even more pointless love polygons. CIDSB was a big mess I agree and completely lost its way.
In my scenario, each team would be small with about 6 members (including an ACP) and the show would alternate between teams in each episode. There would be minimal interaction between teams (the occasional appearance of 1-2 members of one team in another episode but this should be kept minimal). The true common element between them would be DCP Pradyuman and even he has a history of skipping episodes anyway.
For example:
- Episode A: DCP Pradyuman & Team 1
- Episode B: Team 2
- Episode C: DCP Pradyuman & Team 1
- Episode D: DCP Pradyuman & Team 2
- Episode E: Team 1
The only area where I am suggesting more people is the Forensic Dept which I think can benefit from multiple doctors. At least two: Salunkhe and Niyati working together (Tarika functions as Salunkhe's assistant whereas Niyati was a full-fledged forensic expert and that's what I'd like to see). Throw in Wagle too while we are at it.
And NO conflicts between members. The period 2004-2005 was plagued with pointless conflicts everywhere in both CID and CIDSB. I don't want that ever again and there is no reason why there will be conflicts in a new format. Assuming the creative team and producers keep some common sense. Of course with all this Aahat Maha Episode business, maybe they've lost all common sense and there is no hope for us. 😳
I agree that it takes time to adjust to new actors but with good actors and writing it is not impossible. Now I know that for some years now, CID has been casting really poor actors in supporting roles and the writing has deteriorated. But hey we can always hope! 😆 None of this would be possible without a big change in the writing department. Let's hope that happens some day. 😊
