You know, human memory is an amazing thing: until now I had completely forgotten about Jayant. But after you posted his pic and finally after seeing this episode, it all came back to me. I remembered the scene in the shooting range, Jayant using his knowledge of Biology and all. 😆 I loved this episode. It makes me nostalgic about the 90s. The relative lack of mobile phones gives this a sort of "by gone era" feel. Things were so much simpler back then. No cheap special effects involving ridiculous forensics or anything.
I also liked the CID bureau from that era. It felt more like a real office. BTW here's something amusing: in this episode Daya actually failed to break down the door of the contract killer's room and he had to use his gun to destroy the lock. This is unimaginable nowadays. Daya is now an invincible door breaker. 😆
Yeah things were so much simpler. With the advent of technology the level has fallen rather than going up. Take a simple thing as shooting a bullet, earlier one felt that they actually used the gun, now to show that a bullet is shot they put some stupid special effect. Why do they need to add special effects to shots when it can look more realistic without it.
I also like the old office mainly the one thats shown in "THE CASE OF BOLTED DOOR" and "THE CASE OF STOLEN CAR". Outside the office you had the CID logo, a real one. The Current office looks like a huge set, nothing like an office, and they seem to have taken the exterior of an MNC Office and added an artificial logo on it. It clearly looks fake. earlier they would have the Dog Squad (Peggy and Tipsi such sweet darlings), Bomb Squads, Poilic Patrol Cars, Constables, etc. One felt we saw how the CID and Police actually work. Now as days ek policawal dikhai nahin deta. Ealirer when they would go to investigate, first they would show their ID Card, now they don't do it. They were polite, say thank you etc. They would make people comfortable whom they are interogating. This has a lot to do with the Dialog Writer being changed. Now a kind of bossy tone runs thoughout the show. Ealired they would show a chawl if the suspect is a waiter, etc. The shooting locations were intune with the backgrounds of the supporting cast's financial stauts. Now almost any one stays in a dule house, waiter ho, mechanic ho, koi bhi ho. Everyone has a house, you harld see a flat forget chawls. Earlier there used to be cases where CID was able to stop the crime, like THE CASE OF CROSS CONNECTION and THE CASE OF CRY FOR HELP with the slightest of clues. Now ek episode mein 3-4 log unhi mar jaate hain. They find the culprit but are not shown stopping the crime.
These things make you feel why the saying is so right OLD IS GOLD.
No, they have stopped showing old epidoes since wednesday. They did not finish all the 1998 episodes and not a single 1997 episode was shown. 😭. I only hope they show it. I really want to see Daya Sir's first episode and THE CASE OF MISSING BULLET.

I get a feeling they have stopped re-runs of old episodes because they found that we are discovering too many bloopers.
I wish they had realised how much we want to see the old episodes than this.
