Star plus and Bidai ,s production house gave their actors a formal farewell party......it was a very gracious gesture on their part......they people did not left any loose ends and nor were in hurry for abrupt ending of the show.......actors were happy as well as sad.......I was just thinking about CB......why the abrupt ending......not even a decent farewell to the soap or its actors......there were so many loose threads......How easily Deepu went with Kanika where as he was so much attached to ABHAY and vice verse.......Abhay not even for a single moment asked Radhika , to be forgiven for his behavior whether it was not done intentionally......but had hurt Radhika.....At least they should have given the soap a pleasant end.....nobody would have complained...For their own personal reasons they ruined such a original good story.....not that every thing was perfect in the story their were also many illogical tracks even then it was liked.....mainly it was not Saas –Bahu drama...... ,its X- factor was its simple , innocent , poignant love story with presence of Lord Krishna…….. And great magical chemistry of Dev- Radhika...... just in a hurry to end the soap they ruined the essence of the soap as well as the characters......funny part is just to launch a new show on the same lines they treated the original one shabbily later on........Irony is now they are calling the same actors to perform in their stupid soaps to gain the higher veiwership....

Yes,its true.Zee ended CB 4 RMJ.Bt it didnt work in their favour.Mayb Zee must nt hv thought dat endng CB wud make any diffrnce 2 them,sinc PR is doing well.Bt again they were wrng.I pray dat all their shws flop&their dwnslde cntinues& they wud b cmpelled 2 gv CB2&AVINA.

You have a very valid point. The show was getting ruined for a long time. But, audience still want some sort of closure. In non Zee shows, at least they are showing confrontations, exposures etc. (Uttaran for ex.). But, in CB they did nothing. Neither Amma nor Devki were ever exposed fully. There was no punishment for either of them. Vishaka was shown to be a happy person at the end.

Radhika and Dev were given the worst treatment. At least Radhika apologized a little bit (if that is counted as apology), but Abhay didn't even do that. No remorse was ever shown and actually all his dialogues were taken away at the end. The end was dominated by the worst offenders as they cursed Radhika till the second last episode and suddenly everything was fine.

In any case, neither DJs nor Zee have improved. Their new show Sangini is even worse and it is just the 3rd or 4th month. You should have read yesterday's update and it was extremely stupid and ruined their hero's character although it was never great to begin with. Zee have been doing the same to Agle Janam where the male lead is mentally unstable and helpless and all sort of atrocities are being shown on female characters. The only female character who is not being tortured is so evil despite being brought up by rich, loving parents that she delights in miseries of other women.

Star Plus has class and knows how to treat its actors, shows and viewers. By giving decent closures to the shows that are popular they retain the viewership; even colors treats its talent well and supports them and brings them back in another show. That way they maintain the viewers who follow the actors.

Firstly, the decision to close CB was made in a hurry and was an extremely poor decision -especially when the new track was just introduced. Everyone was waiting for Dev's return and when finally Dev returns and the fans are waiting for Dev-Radhika interactions--the show was closed.

The ending was poorly done----at that point the story was dead; we all knew that none of the loose ends were going to be tied. They should have just shown Dev and Radhika interaction.

The worst was the last episode--the last dance of Dev and Radhika was used to promote the "other show". And the Zee exec had the audacity to make statements as to how they were using CB and its actors to "pass on the baton"....I haven't seen them do that when KB ended--

Zee does not know how to treat its actors or viewers with respect.

This shows in the overall TAM--Star Plus and Colors are way ahead of Zee and will continue to do so.

I for one, (and there are many others with the same sentiments) who will not support Zee until they acknowledge their mistake and rectify it.......

Neerja, well said. Star Plus does stand out in some shows. I may not like the storylines at all but they are well produced.

All channels are essentially showing the same type of crap but you can tell them apart by the way the shows progress and end. Zee channel lacks a certain eliteness where all shows have the same thing happening at the same time, e.g. the leaps, the fires, the weddings. How the heck do you differentiate one from the other?

Why3, you are so right about AJMBHK..

I have yet to understand Suman's hatred and that too towards her own gender? Such bitterness at such a young age for what reason? No real answers or logic, just another character to muddle the story.

Agree with your comments. These are the reasons Zee are behind Star plus. Star Plus has better producers like UTV. Zee lacks professionalism and intelligence. Initially Zee had made hoopla about including audience in their decision making for Sangini what happened now...........well it is too late but they're repenting now right. Even their best show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is not doing well. Now they're rushing to bring DID doubles without original judges so I don't know how it will gel with audience. The reason I liked DID was because of the judges because each brought different style to their craft. CB was very unique show and concept but because of their lack of intelligence and team work......it fell apart. Only reason was still continue to run because Avinash and Rubina's powerful acting talent.

In the end......they have not gotten credit for their wonderful work by our Indian Award system. While actor and actress who are terrible at their craft are winning all sort of awards in our Indian Television Award system. I think Indian Television Award system is run by favoritism, who knows who rather than on Merit or who are most deserving. Indian Film Industry had the same controversy years ago regarding actors and actresses were getting awards because they were rigged.

Now Indian Film Industry has improved greatly in terms of film making techniques and is as par with the west. I hope Indian Television Industry improves with storyline, scripting, professionalism and their cast and crew are treated professionally by the production house.

New Delhi: Even by not hosting reality shows like its Hindi general entertainment channel rivals — Colors, Zee and Sony — Star Plus is banking on new shows, movie premieres and new time bands to generate ad revenues of Rs 1,000 crore.

So far, no Hindi GEC has managed to generate Rs 1,000 crore in advertising revenue ever. The closest to reach the mark was also Star Plus in 2007-08 when it managed around Rs 940 crore before the economic slowdown hit ad revenues of broadcasters.

According to media planners, television generates over Rs 9,000 crore in advertising revenue and therefore one channel of Star network cornering 12% share amidst the 500 odd television channels in the country is an achievement.

Star Plus is also aiming to cross the weekly 400 gross rating point (GRP) barrier on a consistent basis by lining up at least 4-5 shows in the next four months, primarily led by the fiction genre. Star Plus currently generates 40% of the Star networks GRPs. This share is also expected to grow with increase in the GRP of Star Plus, Star insiders said.

"Star Plus has managed to lead the Hindi GEC space for over four months now. It has also outpaced its rival by 100 GRPs for nearly eight weeks. And this is because of the new shows (mostly fiction) that we have launched since February." "Fiction shows have brought us great viewership and contrary to perception that reality shows are creating the buzz, it is the daily soaps and dramas that have helped Star Plus become a dominant leader," Anupam Vasudev, executive VP, marketing & communications, Star India, told FE.

According to Vasudev, Star Plus has managed to create new time bands at 11 pm and 11:30 pm and is constantly reviewing its shows. "If a show does not deliver or there is nothing new to say in its storyline, we will replace it with another show," Vasudev said.

According to experts, while rival Hindi GEC are buzzing with reality shows like Bigg Boss on Colors, Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony and Saregamapa Singing Superstars on Zee TV, Star Plus has less than 10% of its total programming hours dedicated to reality shows. Speaking about the performing shows on Star Plus, Vasudev said fiction shows like Sasural Genda Phool, Man ki Awaaz Pratigya, Bidaai and non-fiction like Music Ka Mahamuquabla, Zara Nach Ke Dikha, Chhote Ustad...

They did the highlighted in blue part with Bidayee,.......but closed it in such a way that almost everyone remembers it with good thoughts and feelings. Zee could have done the same with CB but decided to kill the show instead.

Agree with all ur comments .So sad but what can u do when heads of show and channel have some loose screws in their heads than they cannot see any loose ends in the show and wrapped it in hurry without noticing what they r doing 😡

thankyou for posting this topic..yes it was a big rush to ending this show and as well as ruined the very beautiful love story....still we viewers have ❓ mark about this issue..what was the rush ?😕..and definitely all the actor and actresses deserve a good farewell..but...nothing as there..yes thankyou ZEE yes only ZEE can do this kind of awesome job..who else?
