Part 8
They closed the door and walked over to the Purohit's house eating snacks and tea. Ramu kaka had let them and dadi saw that they have arrived and welcomed everyone. Radhika put down her stuff on the sofa and joined everyone. Dev on the other hand was watching Radhika's every move till she sat down at the dinning table across from him and gave a him a small smile.
As everyone was done with their snacks Radhika started picking up the dishes when dadi came and stopped her.
Dadi "Radhika tum kyun kham ker rahiho tum to hamara ghar mei mehmann ho"
Radhika" Isme mujhe koi aitraaz nahi hai aur mei toh sirf aunty ko madut kar rahi hoon"
Vaishali and Dadi were both touched and didn't have the heart too say no to her. The kitchen was cleaned up faster with everyone working together and then they joined everyone in the living room watching news on TV.
After the new were done Shastri told Raj that they should be going home as he had to wake up early the next day for the arti, so the they bid their goodbyes and headed home. They were still watching TV but Radhika saw that Dev was just rsesting and wasn't paying any attention. So Radhika went near him and sat down as she was concerned for his health. She touched his forehead again and it felt hotter then before but she remembered that fevers were common. The gesture didn't go unnoticed by the rest of the family, they were all smiling.
Vaishali got up went to the kitchen and came back with some medicine and cup of water for dadi "maaji yehlo tumhari davai"
Dadi "Bahu aaj mujhe nahi leni hai" and she starts making faces which makes the kids laugh and also make Vaishali laugh but she is trying her best not to laugh.
Vaishali " chalo bacho time for bed as you all have school tom"
All three of them groaned and started to gather their stuff before they went upstairs. Mr Purohit turned off the TV and picked up tomorrows newspaper and head upstairs thinking no one saw him.
Dadi "Beta where are you going with tomorrows paper"
Vaishil stifled a laugh which Mr. Purohit just gave his wife a glare and headed upstairs. Vaishali look at Radhika "beta there is an extra bed in Dev's room'
Radhika nodss her head and then wakes up Dev who is still resting. Vaishail was about to go upstairs when Radhika spoke "aunty kyar thoda tel(oil) melega"
Vaishali " ha per tel kyun"
Radhika "Dev keliye"
Vaishali went into the kitchen and warmed up some tel and then gave it to Radhika. Then they both headed upstairs and headed to Dev's room and explained to her where Dev puts his clothes, extra towels for the bathroom, cabinets where she can put her clothes, and the shows her where the bathroom is.
Dev came into his room with Dadi and sees that Radhika is already there. So Dadi tells Dev "Radhika ko paresan zyada mut karna"
Dev steals a glance at Radhika who is place her kanha idol on the table before answering Dadi "mei usko nahi parasan karunga" with that said both Dadi and Vaishali left the room. Radhika went to the bathroom to change into her night clothes and then went along with her normal ritual before going to sleep. She went too pray to her Kanha. When she was done she came to check up on Dev and noticed that he hadn't changed his clothes and was laying awake in bed starring off into space. So Radhika went to his closet and got his pajamas and handed them to him
Radhika "tum bathroom mei jaker change ker lo"
Dev "thanks..um which way is the bathroom"
Radhika showed Dev the bathroom and waited on the small in his room for him. As he came out he was holding his head causing Radhika to jump from the sofa and rush over to him and lead him to bed. She gently laid him down and then put the blanket over him.
Dev "I have a really bad headache"
Radhika "I know but the doctor said that you will be experiencing some really bad headaches the first couple of days and then they will gradually decrease"
Dev simply nodded and Radhika starting massaging his head and he starts to feel better. Dev fell asleep to her massaging his head and Radhika didn't even realize till she heard his soft breathing. Radhika carefully got up from the bed as she didn't want him to wake up and went to the bathroom to was her hands and went to sleep in her bed. She stirred in the middle of the night to get water and as she was coming back she decided to check up on Dev. She felt his head really hot and his face clammy with sweat. So she got the thermometer to check his temperature.
She gently opened his mouth and placed it under his tongue and waited for a few minutes. She took the thermometer out his mouth and read the that his temperature was 104. She rushed to the bathroom and got a bowl of warm water and took a towel from the cabinet and walked over to his bed. She dipped the towel in warm water and then placed it on his forehead and continued putting th the towel on his head till the water got cold. Then she got the oil the from the nightstand and applied it too his feet to make sure he doesn't get more sick.
Radhika feel asleep holding his hand as she was massaging it earlier and that is exactly how dadi found them when she came into the room to wake up them up.
Dadi gently shook Radhika "Radhika beta utho"
Rahdika sleepily opened her eyes and said "Radhe Rahde Dadi"
Dadi "Beta ab Dev kaisa hai"
Radhika "usko kaol rath ko bohhut bukar tha abhi kum hogaya hai"
Dadi was pleas to hear that and said "tum aur Dev jald niche ajana"
Rahdika "Thik hai"
Once Dadi had left the room she went over to Dev and gently shook him to wake him up but he didn't want to wake up. So he wrapped the blanket around him tighter. She tried again but fail because all Dev did was groan. So Radhika began to think of another way to wake him up. She grabbed the end of the blanket and yanked it (revealing our Dev still trying to get some sleep).
Dev sleepily "kya dadi thode aur sone do na plz"
Radhika laughed at Dev's antics for not getting up. Dev woke up instantly as he heard a different voice laugh and looked for the owner of that laugh. He saw that it was none other than Radhika and gave her his boyish smile.
Radhika "how is your headache now"
Dev "Much better thanks"
Radhika "toh ab bed se utho aur shower lelo" with that said she went over tot he closet an took out his clothes and laid them on his bed and then she pushed in him the right direction of the bathroom and went about her normal routine in the morning.When Dev walked back into his room he was surprised to see Radhika praying to kanha. He combed his hair and patiently waited for her to be done. Once she was done she got her backpack ready and saw that he was already ready so they headed downstairs for breakfast. Vaishali saw both of them coming and went to the kitchen to get their breakfast. Both Radhika and Dev touched Dadi's fett befe they stat down. Radhika sat down across form Dev and had to stop herself from laughing as Vaishali kept on fussing over Dev. And Dev just got irritated causing everyone to laugh.
