It seems like the Creatives (Chunnu-Munnu, as Mishti calls them) are at a loss where to go with this story from the day they showed Radhika and Dev getting married.
The concept of Choti Bahu worked until the leads were separated by circumstances. With each passing day the logic to keep them separated, though a bit far-fetched, was consistent. We did not mind the daily vighnas that prevented their coming together, as the union was always meant to happen somewhere down the road. The leads remained failthful to each other through every obstacle and we cheered for them.
The moment the circumstances changed, i.e. the wedding, the writing team doesn't know what to do with them.
The other characters were never developed to carry a story forward. Their function was to thwart the union of the leads. Now Amma, Vishakha, Devki, Mrinu, Chachchu and Co. are not even worthwhile props!
Vishakha's character is ruined beyond repair in the eyes of the audience. That is how horrible the track turned out to be. If ever Vishakha is re-introduced, us on-line viewers have the option of fast-forwarding the character without bothering to see the direction of the track. The TV viewing audience will just disappear.
Then came Shaantanu on the scene... What a patched up job that was. Malaysia, that was hyped, was ruined. His connection with Vishakha and his introduction in Vrindavan to Shashtriji and the Panchayat has not made sense yet. Day after day all we see is the illogical and the selective amnesia of the writing and approving teams!
A long-lost son concept was so quickly introduced and Shaantanu's acceptance into the family was done in such a flash, that his impact and intentions are totally lost on me.
Without any exploration of the emotions behind giving up and regaining the son, Shaantanu's hatred to the point of bodily harm to Dev at the start of the track is not making sense.
If any of this was done for the TRPs, it has backfired terribly for the Creatives. One silliness of Vishakha's track followed with another silliness of Shaantaanu's track has dropped the viewer interest.
What happened to Amma and her lying time after time? It was fine upto the point that it remained in the family. Now that the Vrindavan Graam Panchaayat got involved, here is an incomplete track of Amma's atrocities. Amma's public humiliation would have brought me back as a viewer to watch for the next few weeks, in a story that hypes the divine in each episode!
Shashtriji too has become a caricature of his old vidhwaan self! Devki has remained unscathed. How sad!
One thing of note is that whenever the TRPs drop, Radev scenes are introduced for the audience and the forum to go ga-ga over lovey-dovey scenes! It is a silly marketing ploy and it just keeps dragging this story beyond its time.
Creatives, please get your act together or graciously bow out and end the daily disgrace that you put out!

Grades this happened slowly starting with the dragged out marriage celebrations the fire track😕 when lot of people stopped watching and many in the forum stopped posting with disgust and left. then the subsequent tracks some we liked some we tolerated and some we were disgusted.
The diehard fans o f Avi and Rubi tolerated everything for them😉.Others stayed on that maybe it will become better and the old charm will return at least sometime .😕😲 Once the people start leaving then usually they start watching some other serial and dont come back😆.
I think the original story ended with the marriage so this uninteresting story lines and playing with the religious sentiment is why this downward trend in trps and viewer fatigue. there were so many good tracks mentioned in this forum a number of times but did not happen😲😕
Grades Good analysis of how the serial is loosing its grip but if really effort is put it will be interesting.Like suddenly in the last few episodes the costume dept. seems to be spruced up and the cast is looking and wearing good ones.Especially Rubina. Like u said the important characters including Dev and Rad have been dumbed down😲😲 so many times and others have been given no story 😕other then opposing the lead pair.so no parallel story lines run and everything is just separating the lead pair😲 which is being followed even after second marriage. This limits the story a lot.Maybe they just want their CB as sindoor bin suhagan and nothing else.always fighting for her suhaag(sindoor)😲😲 and his safety and no other track😕

Gardes, I don't think the creatives can ever get their act together. They have spiraled so far below in an abyss of their own making that it is now impossible for them to get out. They start out tracks pretty decently and then at some point butcher them completely. Maybe many will be mad at me, but I am for the second option you mentioned as I have no hope for the first. In another 6 months or so, the creatives should bring closure to a lot of open ended stories and characters and give RaDev a well deserved beautiful ending. After everything the creatives have made Radhika and Dev go through, that is the least they can do for these two beautiful, strong spirited characters.

Gardes Chunnu Munnu were playing gulli danda.......they lost the gulli and now are whacking everything with their danda.😉

You have said whatever I wanted to say so not repeating it. They need to change the entire creative team to carry on with your first option.....I know people in the forum will throw chappals at me, but the rate at which chunnu munnu are waving their dandas in air, most probably it will be the second option.

I agree with you angake...I just don't see the first option happening. The soul of CB is completely gone. Better to end it soon.

I dont think we should talk about CB ending, there are still alot of great storylines that can be shown.
This show is about Radev undying love for eachother and once the creatives keep showing this i will always be interested because its a pleasure looking at Avinash and Rubina, they are the best talents by far on tv right now..

CB low trps doesnt bother me, this is just a phase which will be over soon but the creatives need to wrap up this track asap. It is clear people are not interested in the Shantanu character, before this track CB trps was around 3 to 3.2 now look where it is...CV's take action and revive this beautiful story that is based on Dev and Radhika love not some psychopath out to kill the viewers favorite, did u expect to gain good trps by showing this...?? 😡

Thanks for your thoughts, Chalhov. I saw last 2 days of episodes and it seems that the story is is deteriorating faster than I imagined. My disgust started with Vishakha track and it has not redeemed itself. Since I am not hooked on the actors per se and more on the story itself, I am of the opinion that the best thing is to bow out when the going is good. Good clothes for a crappy storyline is like a gift from the dollar store with an expensive gift wrap from Chimanlal's (only a Mumbaiite will understand the Chimanlal reference, sorry!) or Hallmark!
The revelation was screwed up royally, now Shaantanu's track is going the quick fix route too with third grade formula!

Angake, thanks for saying what you did. I think so too. The magic is gone from the story. Good looking actors or on-screen chemistry only goes so far. I watch another show with my husband and so far the logic has been maintained very well, No wonder it ranks top of every list and award!

That is funny - playing gilli danda! Thanks for making me laugh. Brought back good memories of summer vacations on the streets playing gilli-danda!
Sticks and stones can break my bones..... I am with you and others who feel that the show needs to end with us having good memories of it! This daily painful dragging just for the TRPs is beyond me.
