It seems like the Creatives (Chunnu-Munnu, as Mishti calls them) are at a loss where to go with this story from the day they showed Radhika and Dev getting married.

The concept of Choti Bahu worked until the leads were separated by circumstances. With each passing day the logic to keep them separated, though a bit far-fetched, was consistent. We did not mind the daily vighnas that prevented their coming together, as the union was always meant to happen somewhere down the road. The leads remained failthful to each other through every obstacle and we cheered for them.
The moment the circumstances changed, i.e. the wedding, the writing team doesn't know what to do with them.
The other characters were never developed to carry a story forward. Their function was to thwart the union of the leads. Now Amma, Vishakha, Devki, Mrinu, Chachchu and Co. are not even worthwhile props!
Vishakha's character is ruined beyond repair in the eyes of the audience. That is how horrible the track turned out to be. If ever Vishakha is re-introduced, us on-line viewers have the option of fast-forwarding the character without bothering to see the direction of the track. The TV viewing audience will just disappear.
Then came Shaantanu on the scene... What a patched up job that was. Malaysia, that was hyped, was ruined. His connection with Vishakha and his introduction in Vrindavan to Shashtriji and the Panchayat has not made sense yet. Day after day all we see is the illogical and the selective amnesia of the writing and approving teams!
A long-lost son concept was so quickly introduced and Shaantanu's acceptance into the family was done in such a flash, that his impact and intentions are totally lost on me.
Without any exploration of the emotions behind giving up and regaining the son, Shaantanu's hatred to the point of bodily harm to Dev at the start of the track is not making sense.
If any of this was done for the TRPs, it has backfired terribly for the Creatives. One silliness of Vishakha's track followed with another silliness of Shaantaanu's track has dropped the viewer interest.
What happened to Amma and her lying time after time? It was fine upto the point that it remained in the family. Now that the Vrindavan Graam Panchaayat got involved, here is an incomplete track of Amma's atrocities. Amma's public humiliation would have brought me back as a viewer to watch for the next few weeks, in a story that hypes the divine in each episode!
Shashtriji too has become a caricature of his old vidhwaan self! Devki has remained unscathed. How sad!
One thing of note is that whenever the TRPs drop, Radev scenes are introduced for the audience and the forum to go ga-ga over lovey-dovey scenes! It is a silly marketing ploy and it just keeps dragging this story beyond its time.
Creatives, please get your act together or graciously bow out and end the daily disgrace that you put out!

Gardes,
You have summarized so beautiful the senseless things that we have been watching lately in CB. Not a thing more to add from my side, as I have repeated myself enough and beaten to death the stupid thing they have done latest with Shantanu's character.

"The moment the circumstances changed, i.e. the wedding, the writing team doesn't know what to do with them."

For me, the senseless thing started from the fire track. I wasn't sure if you meant the same when you wrote the above. What was the reason to burn Radhika? To have kund snan? Couldn't she get a kund snan if she wasn't burnt, with some other inane reason? Who would have complained?

When I think back, I feel its the kshama vrat was when these amar chitra katha kinda episodes started, but we all still liked it bcos we wanted Dev & Rad to get want they really wanted.

We are still sticking with the show and they have been failing miserably in every track they have introduced after the marriage.

well said gardes .
incidentally I understand your ref. to Chimanlal well .the one near Excelcier theatre .
i spent a good part of my life there .
but there is one thing you should appreciate . Everyone wanted Radhika to stand up & help & protect dev from the devious plots of the Evil trio .
Creatives are building the scenario for radhika to do just that .
Though the attempt is poor .
the scene of dev falling in the abyss is so unrealistic. Shantanu is straining himself but Dev seems to be standing on some stool without any strain & crease on his face .
How could Shantanu go & return from the place without anyone missing him when he was the focus of the Jashn .
The kawali sequence & the filmy dance & drama in a religious celebration was rather jarring . They should have selected some Kanha or meera or Ram & Sita songs for the occasion .
It was all out of sync .
