Actually I don't know how much of it is true but there was a serial in Zee Tv called Ravana, In this serial they showed the life story of Ravana, the king of Lanka.

In this serial they showed that in his birth Ravana along with his brother Kumbhkaran was the server of Vishnu. One day, both the brothers committed some mistake due to which Lord Vishnu was angered and he gave them shaap that they will stay in the earth for 13 birth.

Ravan and his brother was very sad, they asked him for forgiveness as they did not wanted to stay away from LORD, but since the verdict was given, it could not be reverted, so LORD said that if Adharm increases in the earth he will have to come and cleanse it out himself, and after he kills them they can come back and serve him out.

Sita was given birth at that time itself and was the daughter of Ravan actually and that's why is known to be 3000 years old when she married Lord Ram..

Due to the punishment, both the brothers left the Swarg lok and came down to earth and as said by Lord Vishnu started doing Adharm's, so that Lord comes and kill them.

In the 11th birth, they were born as Ravan and Kumbhakaran and their Adharms increased due to which Lord Vishnu had to take birth as Lord Ram and Mata Sita had to appear in the baby form.

When Ravan caught hold of Mata Sita, he caught hold of her hand not as the other women but as the father, as he knew that she was his daughter and he knew that this was the only way out to anger Lord Ram who was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu and kill him and free him of the Shaap given to him, so that he no longer have to stay aloof from his LORD and can serve him once again.

I don't know how much of this is true, but Zee Tv's claimed that they have studied huge scriptures before showing them on screen about Raavna

In the Bhagavata Purana, Ravana and his brother, Kumbhakarna were said to be reincarnations of Jaya and Vijaya, gatekeepers at Vaikuntha, the abode of Vishnu and were cursed to be born in Earth for their insolence.

These gatekeepers refused entry to the Sanatha Kumara monks, who, because of their powers and austerity appeared as young children. For their insolence, the monks cursed them to be expelled from Vaikuntha and to be born on Earth.

God Vishnu agreed that they should be punished, but agreed to mitigate their curse. He asked them whether they wanted seven births as devotees of Vishnu or three births as enemies of the Lord. Since they wanted to return as soon as possible, they agreed to be born in three births as evil-doers. Ravan is one of the three births

In the first birth,in kritaYuga Jaya and Vijaya were born as Hiranyakashipu and Hiranyaksha. Vishnu incarnated as Varaha and Narasimha and killed them both. In Treta Yuga they were born as Ravana and Kumbhakarna and were killed by Rama. Then in Dwapara Yuga. In their final birth, they were born as Shishupala and Dantavakra, and killed by Sri Krishna. After the end of three births, they returned to Vaikunta.

Abhilasha do you seriously think that the zee tv does any research of any kind..........look at CB........if someone gets burnt do the family members take the burn patient to the hospital for plastic surgery or to some cave near Delhi and then dip in some pond during whatever moon night and lo behold pour honey and what not,all the burns are gone.............or rub some Marigold fron Vrindavan to remove warts! The person who burns another human being is going free, infact proudly waddling about. I don't trust anyting the Zee Tv says regarding research! Abhilasha I am not being angry at you it is the creatives and the honchos of zee that I am disgusted with.

misti I can understand what u r saying and ur frustration, but u see the difference in both the serials is that, CB is a fiction so no need of any research the CV's can take their liberty and show anything for the sake of TRP's, BUt Ravana was a mythological character and anything related to the scriptures, the Production house and the Zee Tv ppl cannot show it in TV, as with these scriptures the emotions and values of ppl r related and if they twist lots of things or show something which insults or hurts the scriptures, then it can raise lots of hues and cries and ppl may also burn the Production house office or something. So they can't take liberty with these kind of scriptures. So whatever they would have shown was researched and even Chalov has written the right story today.

So do you mean that burning a person does not hurt peoples emotions.....there are thousands girls burnt in India and they suffer terribley.....none of their parents or loved ones go to some cave or pond to get the burnt victim cured........they go to the hospital.........isn't that an insult to the burnt victims? Hundreds of woman go through miscarriage and it takes ages for them to recover.......and how did the creatives show it......all utter nonsense. Even the religeous stuff that they show is all wrong......do they mean to say that the same Kanha who always protected Mirabai before anything happened to her will let Radhika get burnt, just because he is testing her.....by what? burning her! I am sorry the God that I have be told about is not a cruel God.....specially to his Bhakt.........it might be what the creatives God is.

I am sorry but all the known film directors and writers do research before they even start to write their screenplay or a book..........fiction is not related to research is something that is wrong.......it is another thing that if someone wants to write crap.....he or she is most welcome but that will get lost very quickly....but a well researched book or movie or serial will last in the memory of the public for ages. Fiction depicts reality , yes some creativity is used but good writers always try to stick to reality as far as possible.......not like this CB and ZEE creatives who will do anything for TRPs.

But now everybody is so much into money making that they just want to show some melodrama which would give them good money. If u see, all the serials currently telecasted show their protagonists strong devotees of some or the other GOD, very sacrificng, but always the worng doings r done with them only. In every seral, none of the protagonists would become a mother straght forwardly. They would definitely have 1 or 2 mis-carriages b4 they finally give birth to a child. None of the protagonists tough strong believers of GOD and follows right path never gets to live a good daughter's, wife and a mother's life. She always needs to prove her truth to everybody.

Its not that the teleserials do not try and educate people, In BAlika Vadhu, they tried showing the problems associated with child marrriage, problems associated in the delivery and life of girls geting pregnant at a very young age due to child marriage, the bad rule of men being allowed to marry girls fit to be their daughters, not allowing girls to study, girls pathetic life after widow, etc but now after the substance is over u see them also moving towards this sheep track, so that they can cash on their NO.1 SLOT and gain moolahs till the time they can get it.

So u see now everybody wants to earn money and not look towards the responsibilty they have towards the society. It is left for the audience to choose the serials and watch and understand that everything they show is fake and nothing is true, so they should just watch it as a drama and leave it there. To educate audience more they show them their off screen things, if ppl don't understand them then they only say at this time the audience is very clever and if anybody fails to understand ths much they pity their brains and sympathize with the sufferers and remind the audience once again that they r showing a fiction, which is a fake drama and so should not get so involved.
