Hey thanks Sillykitty and Nir Dear !!
Very good point and observation that DJs are making Vish character questionable ... so that we all keep guessing and keep discussing all sorts of different angles among us diehard viewers ... till the cows come home (ya I know my fav expression !!) ... In a way goes to show how much "they" have to depend on our inputs and insights (no matter whether they incorporate them or not) to advance the story further ... til episode 1000 maybe !!! 😉 (BTW, me sure we all remember that pretty soon it will be one year completion of CB next month ... hurray !!)
Anyhoo, here's my brief analysis for the rest of the epi (after putting EVIL amma back where she belongs !😡)
The show starts with a very good note and the long-awaited mehandi ceremony for our Dev .. They make it short and sweet and even sweeter when Dev slowly and sweetly opens the wooden gift box from his radhika .. His face sparkles with happiness when he sees kanha inside ... quietly says to himself .. now that radhika's kanha is here, radhika will be here soon too in a few days ...
There is not a moment when our Dev does not think of his radhika and instantly a sweet smile envelopes and engulfs on his entire face, planted on his entire face, on his entire being ... and he gets totally submerged in it ..
We see Vish returning to Vri ... and Radhika is gleeful .. but immediately realizes that something is amiss .. When questioning vish what happened, amma walks in and instead replies in her usual ugly style .. Here again, IMO, vishaka's tears and silence, and bearing the pain of what just happened at PB, is yet another testimony of her badappan (magnanimity ?!), and swallow the pain without telling any of the bad stuff that happened at the PB, or any other time and place for that matter ...
And as the next scene also reveals vish changed character, when amma notices mehandi on radhika's hands and again filth pours out of her mouth ... Radhika's meek explanation and amma's 'satyanaash' follows, camera is on vishaka's face 2-3 times showing signs of disgust for her amma ... And bang .. Vish stops amma in her tracks and speaks in favor of radhika that mehandi was meant for her and it is on her palm ... end of matter .. sits amma ... tells her with a smile that the mehandi of Dev RP is only meant for radhika's hands and no one else ... Vish tone almost implying to amma ... you better accept this truth ...
Again we witness a happy Vish when she tells radhika ... it's a good sign that mehandi fell on your hand ... and it's your victory .. Amma cant believe her ears seeing poti pampering radhika ... and blurts out again that whatever happened at PB to Vish is all because of this radhika ... Again, Vish says ~ AMMA STOP IT ... But few seconds later amma again opens her big mouth and curses radhika that because of her you've suffered all your life since childhood .... Again, vish contradicts amma, totally disagrees with her ... and says its radhika who has suffered ... And for the THIRD time she stops amma, saying ... that's enough (bas !)
If anybody who "won" in this scenario, it's vishaka IMO ... she's winning over her own self-centered selfish nature of the past ... winning in putting amma in her place, winning in planting the feeling of self-respect, self-esteem in radhika in her own eyes (apni hi drishti mein), winning in making radhika feel proud of her sister ...
This next part is simply divine and blissful ... words just aren't enough .. when Dev is shown putting the kanha on the table ... om bhur bhava swaha (gayatri mantra) in the background ... Dev with closed eyes praying with folded hands ... there is so much sukoon, happiness and peace on his face ... the dimly lit room has so much positive vibes ..
And Dev calls radhika to thank her for the kanha ... how can he not ... nothing is complete, nothing has any meaning until dev shares every single nuance, every single breath with his radhika ... And their phone conversation gives rise to the first expression of HAMARA, HUM ... and Dev says it feels so good to say our home, our room, our kanha ...
Here IMO DJs are paving the way for making RaDev atoot bandhan even stronger emotionally and psychologically ... so that the two can deal with, tackle, resolve, as one united soul, any future impending disagreements, hurt, upset, arguments that may creep in ... Sadly us viewers already "know" and "feel" that THE truth has to come out ... And when that happens our RaDev are going to be put to yet another test ... and again pass in flying colors ... now that kanha ka raaj ho gaya hai, kanha ki sthapna ho gayi hai RaDev ke room mein, RaDev ke heart mein, RaDev ki zindagi mein ... RaDev ki saanson mein ...
Next scenes mainly deals with babuji and amma convo .. and how disrespectful the son and devki were towards her at PB .. Babuji true to his character admits to his own pariwaar's fault in all that .. And asks her to try to remove Vish attachment from her heart ...
Here also Vish is talking to some ladies busy with mixing the mehandi and her lovely remark that they need not worry as radhika's mehandi is going to be dark even with simple water in it ... After all, the bridegroom loves radhika so much that its color (pun intended) is bound to show on her hands ....
I only wish babuji was around the house to see and witness the positive change in this daughter ... Do DJ's already have a different storyline formulated to bring closeness between babuji and vishakha ???
The last part of the epi which deals with amma's satanic and evil doings has already been posted in detail in this thread ...
Well, my 5C!
And good night Nir and all !!

Hey thanks on behalf of everyone who believes Vish and believe in Vish ... meri aastha to nahi dagmagane wali ... We dont need bigger proof than the fact that Vish STOPPED the old hag THREE TIMES ... same old hag jo sirph radhika ka satyanaash karne ke peeche tuli huyi hai .. for last 20+ years ...
If DJs dont show the contrast (white against black, brightness against darkness), how is anyone going to notice and know the difference ? How will daadi and dev forgive and forget until that brightness is brought in front of them .... Vish is going to do that .. and succeed in changing the opinions of these two most crucial people in radhika's zindagi ..
Interestingly the only people who believe in Vish goodness are radhika (who is not even apna khoon) and devki (who is apna khoon and a mother) ... no one else.. Not because they are blinded by their love for Vish, but because they can clearly discern and have witnessed the genuine change ...
Lets see what vipatti, durghatana befalls amma today ... cos we already know ... aint nothing is gonna happen to our kanha and dev's radhika ...

Well, what can I say about today's epi .. For one thing, our IF majority voting prediction that "NO ONE" will get hurt coz of poisonous mehandi ... didn't come true !! In a way that's good coz it brought out some glaring realities to light ... While the old hag didn't learn a thing from it, we learned that DJs had very interesting thought processes on their part ... If vishakha's hand had not been burned, we wouldn't have gotten yet another proof of positive changes in her ...
But first, kudos to creatives for presenting a well-thought-out episode today .. Laali's cameo appearance, as she said, accomplished what she came to Vri for .. And accomplish she did ... After all radhika's kanha sent for her to save and protect radhika from the evildoer .. Lalli's words yesterday are etched in my memory ... My throat choked and the sachhai in those words ... when she told radhika ~ "mehandi and you have an old connection, an old sambandh ... Your life was also ground like mehandi so that you bring color in others lives .. (saari jindagi tum bhi mehndi ki tarah pisi, taki doosron ki jindagi mein rang laa sakein) .. How sad but true ... But adding, but today this mehandi is auspicious and has (deservedly) brought so much love and happiness in your life ..
Everyone asks radhika to join in the dance festivities and later the words of the song are such that shastriji, devki, vishaka and even lalli become emotional as radhika will soon leave for her sasural .. Flashbacks portray how radhika was always there to take care of her adoptive family .. Of course old hag cant stand this as expected ...
The scene changes and vishaka asks radhika to pick out a cone of mehandi for her, seeing such a beautiful mehandi design on her hands ... Of course amma becomes chaukanna and worries ~ what if the mehandi with "bilwa" (poisonous herbal powder) falls on vishaka, and instantly stops her from applying it .. At this point shastriji's demeanor changes and there's a slight doubt in his eyes towards amma .. Vishaka is adamant and replies back that everyone else is applying mehandi ... and it will be finished if she applied it at night, per amma's insistence ...
Here again, for the umpteenth time, our vishaka has put her foot down, and wins over every argument of amma ... Again amma intervenes like yesterday to pick out a cone, but has no choice but to pick one at random, praying that nothing untoward happens to vishaka .. (mor vishaka ke saath koi anyaay no hone dena thakurji)
Few seconds later when vishaka's hand starts burning and she screams out loud, shastriji is shocked beyond belief, and from his eye movements and stare at amma, his doubts about her evil deeds are even stronger now .. Amma of course hurries and pours some water to wash away the mehandi and hopefully its dangerous effect ...
When Devki wants to apply some chandan (sandalwood), amma says ~ we need to apply coconut oil as chandan won't work ... By now vishaka's burns have turned red and she cries out loud .. Amma's applying coconut oil and shastriji is furious ..
And in a very insinuating and derogatoy tone, first time ever in his entire life, shastriji tells amma ~ when one tries to harm others, only he gets burned in it (jo doosro ke liye gaddha khodte hain, woh usme swayam girte hain, amma). Confronting her, he asks ~ Haven't you mixed something in the mehandi so that radhika's hand gets burned ?? And look .. your poti's hand got burned .. How does it hurt when you see someone you love in pain ?? (Aapne awashya mehandi mein kuch milaya hai na, jisse radhika ka haath jal jaye ?? Aur dekho haath jal gaya aapki poti ka. apno ko aisa kashta padte huye dekh kar kaisa lag raha hai aapko ??)
Hearing this radhika is shocked and devki is in tears ... Amma pretends to look innocent and ignorant, yet guilty as she can't face her own son ... and keeps her gaze downward ... Shastriji grabs amma's hand and puts it on his head, asking her to swear that she did not mix something in the mehandi, that she did not want to see radhika's hands get burned ... (mere sar par haath rakh kar kaho ki ye dushkaar aapne nahi kiya .. nahi chaha tha aapne radhika ka haath jale ?)
Seeing amma quiet, shastriji says ~ your silence proves that you have done this bad deed .. You can stoop so low that you cant even notice the difference between what's proper and improper ?(Aapka maun bata raha hai ki ye dushkar aapne hi kiya hai .. aap itna neeche gir sakti hain ki aapko uchit aur anuchit ka bhan hi nahi raha ?)
I'm shocked and horrified that my own mother is capable of this (mujhe to ye vichar karke hi ghrina ho rahi hai ki meri maa aisa kaarya kar sakti hai ?)
Friends, I'm going to write next few lines and dialogs in hindi .. sorry ... hoping you all will understand ... thanks to update and Eva's wonderful reviews ...
Balyavastha (childhood) mein sada bhed bhav kiya ... main chup raha
uske saath achhooton jaisa vyavahar kiya .. main chup raha
usse sada kadve vachan kahe hain ... main chup .. kyoki aap meri maa hain
aur main, main sambandho ki maryada mein rahna chahta tha iss karan
parantu aapne to saari maryadaayon ko tod diya hai
mujhe bolne ke liye vivash kar diya
aapke kaaran iss ghar mein daadi aur putri kahlane ka adhikar usse nahi mila
khelne ke liye khilone nahi mile .. main chup raha
pahanane ke liye naye vastra nahi mile .. main chup raha
par usne bina kisi virodh ke, bina kisi vivaad ke iss ghar mein itne varsh bita diye .. aap ki seva mein, keval aapki seva mein, amma ..
aur ab jab uske bhagya mein aisa sukh milne wala hai to aapne aisa dushkarm kar diya ?
Mujhe to lajja aa rahi hai apne aapko aapka beta kahte huye
When shastriji says that he's ashamed to call himself her son, radhika suddenly intervenes and says ~ babuji aise sabke samne ...
amma cant stand radhika's words (maybe her false pride got challenged .. or her sensitive nerve got hurt) and she scolds her to not speak ... tu mat bol ... tu beech bachaav karne ki koshish matkar ... amma curses her and says ~ dayan kahiniki ... (OMG .. get this old hag dayan out of my sight) ... Radhika is visibly hurt ... devki, vishaka and everyone is shocked ...
Hearing this babuji holds radhika's hand, brings her in front of amma... and says ~
dhyan se dekhiye ... ye aapko dayan dikhti hai ?
logon ko iss mein radha dikhti hai, meera dikhti hai .. aur aap ko ye dayan dikhti hai ?
kyonki aapke man mein andhkaar hai, kyoki aapke mann mein paap hai ...
kyoki aapke mann mein ek amaanviya aatma hai ... jo kewal dushkaar ke vishay mein sochti hai, aur dushkaar hi karti hai ...
smaran rakhna .. hamein apna swarag narak, paap pundya issi janam mein, issi dharti par bhogna hota hai
aapne jo bhi dushkarm kiye hain uske pashchaat aapko kya prapt hoga, ye swayam aap apni atma se puchiye
iss ke pashchaat agar aapne issi prakaar phir kabhi dushkarm karne ki cheshta bhi ki, to aap sada ke liye apne bete ko kho dengi ..
After uttering such powerful words shastriji leaves ..
IMHO the above dialog (monologue) of babuji ... sets him apart and puts him on a pedestal, puts him on even bigger heights of priesthood, a shastriji, whose integrity and dignity has been challenged by his own mother ... and for the first time in his entire life, shastriji is forced to say such strong words to his mother ... Babuji's heartbreaking performace IMO was one of the biggest highlights of not just today's episode, but entire soap to this day ... I have to bow down and salute the writers ... AND MY HEARTFELT SALUTES TO OUR BABUJI FOR WHO HE IS ...
Of course, none of this has any effect on wretched old hag and she curses radhika even for all this ... Radhika doesn't say a word of course but is very sad, understandably ...
As far as remainder of the epi, below are my thoughts and take ..

1) Vish has better sense ... and she hates her amma coz of this ugly incident (haath mat lagayiye amma mujhe aap .... aap radhika ka haath jalana chaahti thi ?? mujhe aapse nafrat ho gayi hai amma ... aapne mujhe hamesha ke liye kho diya hai ... aapne jo kiya hai na amma, uske liye aapko yehi sazaa milni chahiye ... (Next to babuji, the only other person who shows spunk, backbone, spine ... is our vishaka..)

OF COURSE AMMA IS SURPRISED TO HEAR HER POTI TALK LIKE THAT ...
2) radhika still stops vish from saying such words to an elder amma ... see how big-hearted our radhika is .. in spite of the fact that she knows that the poison was meant for her hands ...
3) The true love between two sisters ... Even though they're not related by blood, vish now realizes that radhika has behaved even better than a real sister would ... when Devki overhears vish saying ~
radhika, bachpan se lekar aaj tak maine teri har cheeze chheeni hai ... aaj pehli baar tera dukh mere hisse mein aya hai .. mujhe bahut achha laga ...( I CANT TELL YOU ALL HOW MUCH THESE WORDS OF VISHAKHA TOUCHED THE CORE OF MY HEART ...)
4) Radhika, when applying coconut oil on vish zakhm and vish looking at vishakha with so much gratitude and tears in her eyes .. says ~ ma ye kyo theek nahi ho raha hai ? maine nariyal ka tel bhi laga diya hai ?? Chhaale (deep skin boils) bhi laal hote jaa rahe hain ... And devki discloses that mehandi is mixed with "bilwa" and that amma has gone to some village herbal doctor (vaidya) to get the "tod" (solution to break the effect of zahar) ..
5) Vish rebukes and disrespectfully and scornfully says ~ I dont want any tod from amma
6) Devki says ~ agar tod nahi lagaya to subah tak tera haath sunna (numb) bhi ho sakta hai (if you dont apply the solution, by morning your hand can even get numb)
7) Radhika as always true to her nature and character ... says ~ maa, aisa mat boliye, amma ko tod bhi milega ... aur vishaka ko lagana bhi padega ...
8) Another most important segment is the last part when babuji is at the temple and asks kanha for foregiveness for speaking so rudely to his mother and for shaming her in front of everyone ..
9) Aaj maine apni ma ko kathor vachan sunaye ....
unka apmaan kiya parantu main vivash ho gaya tha prabhu
10) Aaj tak maine apne krodh par nirantran (control) rakha hai ...
parantu aaj jo huya usse dekh kar mera baandh toot gaya
11) Maine apni janam dene waali maa se apshabd kahe ... mujhe kshama kar dijiye prabhu ...
12) Parantu amaa ye kyun nahi samajhati ki radhika ke jeevan mein dukho ka ant hone wala hai (tabla in the background - indicating blessing from kanha)
13) Aapki prerna (inspiration) se ye vivah nishchit (decided) huya hai prabhu ... radhika ke jeevan mein samast sukh aur anand ka sanchaar hone wala hai ..
14) Babuji with folded hands ... says ~ girdhaari, ab amma ko sadbudhi do ki woh radhika ke jeevan mein kaante bichane ka vichar tyag dein (kanha, please give some good sense to amma so that she relinquishes the thought of putting hurdles in radhika's life)
15) bas ek baar kanha kewal ek baar ek baar kanha ~ amma meri putri radhika ko gale se laga le ... main samjhuga mera jeevan saphal ho gaya prabhu (only one time kanha, only one time, just once .. I pray that amma gives a hug to my daughter radhika .. I will feel, o god, that my life has become successful ... ) I know the translation sometimes doesn't convey the true feelings like the hindi words do .. sorry ...
The serious and emotional drama is diverted and ends on a happy and pleasant note with the PRECAP ... when daadi is speaking to radhika over the phone ... while our Dev looking with meaningful / purposeful / anticipatory look in his eyes .. And daadi says ~
"Bas ek tamanna hai ... jald se jald main apne pote ke bete ko apni god mein khilana chaahti hoon .... meri ye ichha poori karogi na ? Main tumse vachan maang rahi hoon ..." And as always radhika is shy ... but our Dev has a smile on his face ...

Well, would appreciate valuable comments, thoughts, counter thoughts ...

Awesome........... 👍🏼

Didnot see the episode just read the update and now your analysis.......... I have to see this episode especially to hear those fantastic dialogues in shudhdh hindi from Shastriji.....
My son hates my CB addiction, so I always watch it when he is not around, but I nag him and make him listen to just Shastriji's dialogues so that he could at least hear some chaste hindi and realise what a fantastic language it is 👏........ But alas....Most of the times he runs back to his room saying something negative or making fun of the characters ....😭
As I read through your analysis, I realised there is once again a role reversal between Vishakha and Radhika....... Amma tried to burn Radhika's hands during that bangle scene and now with this Mehndi............. But her dearest Poti is the one who had to go through the same pain now which Radhika had to go through on such an important day of her life... Thankfully Radhika had Dev to put malham on her wounds....... Now Amma has to run around to find the right cure for her jigar ka tukda.....
I think this is a milestone episode as now Vishakha is showing her digust to Amma openly..........
So its time for Amma to sing the song which I dedicated to her....Na kisi ki aankh ka noor hoon...........

Yes radev24, a very powerful episode. In fact apart from all the beautiful Radev moments they have shown in the past this is probably my favorite episode.

I loved so many dialogues: the one between Lali and the girls, the ones between father and mother, the ones between the two sisters, but the one particular dialogue that touched me to the core was the one where Shastriji says something to the effect that we will have to face the consequences of our actions on this very earth and in this lifetime. That to me is one of the Universal Truths.

Shastriji feels guilty about his harsh words towards Amma, after all she is his mother. He also speaks of never opposing her evil acts and thoughts towards Radhika because he did not want to cross the boundaries of relationships. These I thought were very thought provoking.

Which duty is more justified; his duty as a son in never correcting Amma when she was being evil towards a child or his duty as a father towards a helpless child he had brought home and promised to give her every protection in the world.

When does your sense of right become strong enough that you can take that final step to cross boundaries created by relationships and correct a grave injustice that has been happening in front of your eyes for years?

To me, one of the most heart breaking and probably unforgiving wrong is the one committed against a helpless child. Reminds me of a story of a Brahmin by the name Poonthanam, a Vishnu bakht from one of the southern states of India. I have heard different variations of the same story but this is the one I have heard the most.

One day on his way to the temple he came across children playing on the street. One little boy walked up to him and asked for something. In his hurry, Poonthanam pushed the child away. Unknown to him the child was none other than Vishnu. Poonthnam had a little baby boy of his own. His baby died when he was 6 months due to a fluke accident on the part of Poonthanam's family. Grief stricken and looking for some answers as to why such a fate befell him, he immersed himself in the Lord. Vishnu then came to him and said children are God's gift to you(humans) and you pushed away a child. Intentional or unintentional that was a grave mistake and hence as a consequence of your misdeed you will never get to enjoy the pleasure of being a father. So, is Shastriji not standing up for the child Radhika a bigger mistake than hurting his mother by calling upon her evil actions.

Another story that comes to my mind is that of Dhruva's. Was King Uttanapad right in not standing up for his son Dhruva when Dhruva's stepmother was ill treating him?

Just like Shastriji tells Amma about karma, is all the emotional upheaval he has been going through and will further go through when the truth is out, a result of his inaction as a father?

And like him Devki too was a part of the injustice done towards Radhika over the years. Is the loss of her own child for a period of time when Vishaka went to Mumbai, her guilt over all the wrongs she and Amma did towards Radhika, the fear of repercussion when the truth comes out, all a consequence she is facing for not stopping the injustice done to a helpless child.

Vishaka and Radhika too in their own way have suffered or are suffering or will have to face the consequences for the wrongs they have done in this life time.

And what will it take Amma to realize her mistakes? Will it be Vishaka who will show Amma the truth about all her misdeeds. Yesterday we saw Amma's lack of remorse when Shastriji condemned her for her deed and her anger towards Radhika increases ten fold. We also saw Amma's hurt when Vishaka said she hates Amma for what she has done. Will Vishaka's hatred and indifference pave the path for Amma's realization of all her evil deeds. It will be interesting to watch the story as it unfolds.

The one thing I personally do not agree with is, Shastriji's desire for Amma's acceptance of Radhika's worth. However, I completely understand why he wants that. If he has to disown Amma because of her evil deeds towards Radhika he would but in the process it will also break his heart and soul. If Amma finally realizes Radhika's worth and starts accepting Radhika as her granddaughter then Shastriji subconsciously will be at peace with himself and will not have to live with the guilt of abandoning his mother. Consciously, he of course wants Radhika to have a grandmother's love and respect.

All in all one of my favorite episodes and a wonderful review by you.

Hey thanks Rachi for lovely comments !!
Yes, you remind me of my american-born nephew (in his mid 20's) who simply cant stand rest of the family including my elderly mother (in a different state) whenever hindi news channel or a soap is on, esp when dish is inundated with hindi soaps ! The difference may be that your son seems still very young and impressionable age whereby he can still take interest and learn this wonderful language ..
Yes, the epi was very powerful indeed in that we see the tables turning and as you say the reversal of roles and reversal of destinies... Before I continue, I'm just reminded of a shayari/dialog that rajesh khanna himself says during his mayoral win in the 1973 movie Daag - aaj main hoon jahan kal koi aur tha, ye bhi ek daur hai, woh bhi ek daur tha ... (You may have to translate it for me, dear .. if you saw the movie) ... The point being that all the pains and tortures that radhika had to suffer all her life at the hands of amma, today her own poti suffered a specimen of it at the hands of her own fav amma ...
Here I believe the fact that amma HERSELF has to mend the wounds inflicted on her fav poti ... is noteworthy and symbolic .. Kanha or god is making amma pay for her sins .. in the form of trying to right the wrong with vaidya's tod or remedy to clean the wound ... Granted that amma the old hag will never learn a lesson ... poti ke pyaar ne, moh ne andha jo kar diya hai usse ...
Since you haven't watched yest epi, you are going to be in for a BIG life-changing scenarios ... It was a class by itself .. Unlke any other epi since Dec, yest at least half the coverage was devoted to babuji's heartbreaking dialog and performance .. Yes, its a milestone episode, a masterpiece .. IMHO ..
BTW, I just saw the HA link (at 7:00) below, regarding PF property that Dev has already decided to bequeath to radhika ... and from the sets and discussions with daadi, dev and mri, it seems this is going to be our weekend episode ... i.e. today .. and jels right with the PRECAP ... If moi analysis right, guess we're going to watch a "happy" weekend episodes ...

Hey thanks Poonam and Bani for your views !! (Yes I just posted the link re the huge PF property transferred in the name of radhika ... already !!)
Well, both your predictions may just come true from the looks of it .. And my strong conviction re vishaka being the GA will be rendered misplaced and wrong ... I can live with that ...

Oh my, Angake,
I'm just spellbound with your indepth analysis and awesome questions raised ..
But first, yes the writers had a field day .. one episode can have so many masterpiece dialogs (esp babuji's) is simply amazing ...And the particular one that you're referring to ... is repeated below in hindi and the exact translation follows:
kyonki aapke man mein andhkaar hai, kyoki aapke mann mein paap hai ...
kyoki aapke mann mein ek amaanviya aatma hai ... jo kewal dushkaar ke vishay mein sochti hai, aur dushkaar hi karti hai ...
smaran rakhna .. hamein apna swarag narak, paap pundya issi janam mein, issi dharti par bhogna hota hai
aapne jo bhi dushkarm kiye hain uske pashchaat aapko kya prapt hoga, ye swayam aap apni atma se puchiye
Babuji telling amma that the reason you inflicted inhuman tortures to radhika is becuse you have darkness in you, because your heart is full of sins, because your soul is the soul of an inhuman, a devil, a satan, who only thinks of doing ill-will to others, who only does bad deeds to others ..
Remember, our hell and heaven, our sins and good deeds, are all done and paid on this earth only, in this lifetime only ... Whatever bad deeds you have done, you have to ask only your soul as to what you will gain after that ...
Yes, this is what our hindu philosophy and dharm teaches, which is also the ultimate universal truth in all scriptures ..
Angake, you've raised extremely thought-provoking and difficult questions as listed below ... coz they are morethan worth repeating .. I'm amazed at your ability to peel the layers of the entire show so meticulously, so accurately ... you have gone to the depths of what CB is all about (even if DJs haven't..)
1) Which duty is more justified; his duty as a son in never correcting Amma when she was being evil towards a child or his duty as a father towards a helpless child he had brought home and promised to give her every protection in the world.
I believe we cannot compare the two and make one less justified than the other, IMHO .. Within the bounds of his priesthood duties, and thereby limitations and boundaries, shastriji did try to beseech, request, binti to amma, with folded hands, with restraint and without losing his temper (krodh) ... but none had to succeed ... as amma is incorrectable, incorrigible, inhuman .. IMO .. Even after throwing most "unpriestly" platitudes at her, she remained least affected, least bothered ... If anything it made her even worse by calling radhka "kulachhini and dayan" ...
2) When does your sense of right become strong enough that you can take that final step to cross boundaries created by relationships and correct a grave injustice that has been happening in front of your eyes for years?
Again, marvelous question .. So deserves a marvelous answer at best .. I guess when it becomes a life and death situation .. Coz IMHO going beyond the supposed societal boundaries can only be done when you're still alive, not when you are already dead .. so the eventuality of death becomes the ultimate and final indicator ... when one is forced to cross those boundaries created within different relationships .. But I feel sad that one has to wait that long and think that hard before all kinds of injustices that befall people can be stopped ...
On a slightly different note, I have found myself saying the words ~ the reason evil continues its strong hold in our universe is because good people just watch it, do nothing about it, for one kind of fear or another .. (and the reason I've said it .. is coz something did happen few years ago ... hence the words)
3) Just like Shastriji tells Amma about karma, is all the emotional upheaval he has been going through and will further go through when the truth is out, a result of his inaction as a father? AND
4) And like him Devki too was a part of the injustice done towards Radhika over the years. Is the loss of her own child for a period of time when Vishaka went to Mumbai, her guilt over all the wrongs she and Amma did towards Radhika, the fear of repercussion when the truth comes out, all a consequence she is facing for not stopping the injustice done to a helpless child.
Very good observations indeed ... I tend to agree here .. which is sort of, indirectly, covered in the 2nd answer .. If shastriji had taken strong steps much before to stop the wretched amma, say in radhika's childhood itself, things couldn't have, wouldn't have come to where radhika lost all her identity, all her self-esteem, all her confidence ..
And as far as THE truth, that is probably going to be the ultimate UPHEAVAL time in the CB world ... Whether that will be due to his inaction as a father .. is debatable .. Again it's a dichotomy ... Devki doesn't want to reveal the truth due to her own insecurities, her own fears, her own weaknesses ... as formulated and constructed by the DJs ... Devki is not a bad mother, she's certainly not an evil mother ... we all know that, but as a bahu and as a meek person, she's completely made to be under saasu ammaji's thumb and influence ... even at the cost of being unjust and blatantly unfair to a helpless little child ... Yes, she doesn't have the warewithal, the guts to face the consequences, the repercussions of revealing the truth ...(just my 2C!)

5) Vishaka and Radhika too in their own way have suffered or are suffering or will have to face the consequences for the wrongs they have done in this life time.

We've known all along the way vishaka is a pampered, spoiled child all the way into adulthood, devil-may-care attitude, selfish, self-centered, etc... But she's now realizing, slowly but surely, the gems she lost in pursuit of gaining ad achieving her life-long dreams .. How, when and what consequences she's going to face due to her 'karmas' .. remains to be seen ... What she has in store is anybody's guess ... but maybe not DJs ..

Radhika on the other hand, IMO, has suffered all her life inspite of not doing any wrongs in her life .. Whatever things that appear to be 'wrong-doing' on her part are done by her ... due to worse kind of limitations bestowed on her all her life .. When you and I and every single character on CB will open our mouths and speak, radhika on the other hand remains silent, not just towards elders, but even in general ... until recent epis .. DJs need to transform her character to such an extent that nobody can dare to trample her under their feet, esp at PB ..

6) And what will it take Amma to realize her mistakes? Will it be Vishaka who will show Amma the truth about all her misdeeds. Yesterday we saw Amma's lack of remorse when Shastriji condemned her for her deed and her anger towards Radhika increases ten fold. We also saw Amma's hurt when Vishaka said she hates Amma for what she has done. Will Vishaka's hatred and indifference pave the path for Amma's realization of all her evil deeds. It will be interesting to watch the story as it unfolds.
In one word ~ NOTHING ... I'm afraid ... and you've listed the reasons so minutely .. old hag is NOT going to change, period, in my-not-so-humble-opinion .. Story will continue to unfold, Angake, but amma will continue as amma til cows come home .... it's in her DNA ... even her thakurji cannot change her ..
7) If shastriji has to disown Amma because of her evil deeds towards Radhika he would but in the process it will also break his heart and soul. If Amma finally realizes Radhika's worth and starts accepting Radhika as her granddaughter then Shastriji subconsciously will be at peace with himself and will not have to live with the guilt of abandoning his mother. Consciously, he of course wants Radhika to have a grandmother's love and respect.
Again, this is a very crucial juncture of shastriji and amma's relationship as we know it ... Sorry to say but there's no way his prayers are going to be answered, however sincere, about accepting radhika as her grandchild and his beti .. Whether he will disown amma, as he said he will, remains to be seen .. The scriptwriters are not going to make shastriji's character as the one where he will have to live with any kind of guilt .. He simply doesn't deserve that ...
Well, today's epi has come and gone ... haven't watched it yet (obviously 😉) ... Cant wait to see what awaits the weekend ...
Thanks again, Angake, for such thought-provoking, insightful, debatable, series of analyses !
