Why Rads can't tell the truth

Like most of you i am very annoyed with the dragging of this single track and the utter ridiculousness of Dev not seeing Radhika for so long and finding nothing wrong with that situation. But i've noticed that many are upset with Radhika not speaking up for truth and revealing herself to Dev even after knowing how much Dev is still in love with her and how much pain she is causing him.

The reason i don't hold it against Radhika..

1) She must be grateful to her parents. No matter how selfish Devki has been with regard to Rads and Vish, and no matter how helpless Shashtri has been in front of the society or Amma when it comes to treating Rads as an equal, they still have bred her for years. If not for their support Rads would definitely be in a deplorable condition. They've provided her with home, food, clothes and love even if they've given more love to their own daughter (arguably) they've still given Rads a part of something she didn't have any rights on by birth.

2) No matter what she does to gain for herself the rights of being Dev's wife, it will now be seen as she stole it from Vish. Amma's cursings have little meaning to us, but in Radhika's own eyes she cannot steal her sister's happiness. So she herself cannot be the cause by which Vish is kicked out of Dev's life. If it happens that way then Amma will be proven right, which is just going to be tragic. Rads will come out looking like a husband stealer... which is just not what i want to see.

Instead the truth must come out in a way where no one can point a finger at Rads. And i feel that Radhika's Kanha also wants the same. Thats is the reason whatever happens is happening because Amma herself is puttiing Rads in those situations. Amma put Rads in the mandap and now asked her to perform the pooja too. Rads cannot be faulted for that...tho Amma will still blame Rad's evil eye.. but no onlooker can say Rads did something to gain any such rights. So Rads will not speak.. she won't say anything and only another circumstance will bring out the truth for everyone. Thats just the way its got to happen.

I agree with you that she cannot go against her family's happiness. Her strength in fact lies in her ability to put their needs before hers. But I do feel that instead of hiding from Dev, she can tell him atleast part of the truth - that his love is not one sided and she too has felt the same for him. But now they have to put duty before love because that is the right thing to do. I am sure Dev will understand because if anything, he values his family more than anything else. That would show her as a stronger woman.

But how can she tell Dev without jeopardizing Vishakha's life with Dev. Knowing how crazy and irrational Dev got in his love for her previously, how can she surely decide that after finding out that she too loves Dev and she is not actually married, that he'll still put his responsibilities ahead of his love. Right now he has decided to take on the responsibilities because there is no way for him to be with his love. And even after realizing that he cannot forget her. Dev is not like Rads. He is not a sacrificial lamb. He doesn't put everybody else above his own happiness and his needs. Right now he is doing so out of a guilty feeling. But thats not his persona. And he cannot be expected to behave as such always. SO i don't agree about Rads telling him half truth. Its not going to achieve anything except maybe further complicate things and make life harder for Dev.

Right now he can atleast try to forget her without a guilty concious.

Hmm...may be what you say is right. Dev could get carried away and yes, it is too big a risk to take (from Radhika's view point). You know, I feel it really bad about this unrequited love. And my heart goes out to Dev everytime he says he doesn't even know if his DG loves him or not. But yeah, there is no other way out of this except wait for the truth to come out on its own. SIGH !!!

Agreed Rads can't say the truth but the creatives can make Vish/Amma/Devki say it, blurt it out, or accidentally have Shastriji/Dev hear it-Then atleast the story will move forward and it won't be Rads who spilled the beans!

I agree, noone is happy, but i think being a conservative serial, they have made it so that radhika will never be put to blame other than for keeping quiet.

That means she is without a backbone.

The sacrifice of Radhika is meaningful only if Dev and Vishakha are happy together. But the fact is they have not accepted each other and Radhika is now fully aware of that. Despite that she is forcing both of them to be together and lecturing them to lead a happy married life. A typical 'Indian Arranged Marriage' - dump two creatures (male and female) in a room - haule haule ho jaayega pyaar.
