As for Avinash's acting,...he does know how to emote with his eyes and body language. Plus combined with very good voice modulation he would have done wonders in CB2 if he had been given the full scope to show his acting. Anyway what has happened has happened... the past cannot be changed but can only hope that he gets good opportunities to progress in life.

Misti, thanks. This was the first part and Radhika's song was the second part. The best part about this track is how they used Dev and Radhika's characters to advance the story. Dev was the pampered guy and hence in the beginning was somewhat self-centered in an innocent way. But as he got to know Radhika in a true sense when they were living together, he evolved and could see how she was affected by her background. So even though he was protective of her from the beginning, he became even more sensitive to her situation later on.

That episode was very good where Radhika requests him for a simple wedding because her father did not have means. But she doesn't tell him the reason because she doesn't want to damage her father's pride. He misunderstands her because he again attributes her request to be a cause of her abusive background and misplaced obligations. The obvious reason of not having sufficient money doesn't come to his mind because he had never seen shortness of wealth. But he makes up for his mistake when Dadi makes him realize the truth. So that last scene of the episode was very good where Radhika feels so overwhelmed at his understanding and willingness to compromise on his own dreams. So that first year and few parts of second year were good. But towards the end, it seemed as if the writing team of CB1 was similar to the writing team of CB2 who wrote from Barkha track onwards.

Avinash is a very good actor and I do hope that he gets good opportunities in future where the script can do justice to his talent.

My next VM is based on a gazal. I am not a big fan of gazals, but this is the one I like.

It is "kisi nazar ko tera intezzar aaj bhi hai" from the movie "Aitbaar". It suits Dev and Radhika of CB1 and so I decided to make it on them. This is a song from 1980s movie, so probably many are not aware of this gazal.

I have titled this VM "Waiting"; the title is taken from a poem by Robert Frost. There is also a beautiful poem "Waiting" by Rabindranath Tagore. But the context is different and hence I am not quoting it here.

Also there is a song "Right Here Waiting for You" by Richard Marx. It is a beautiful soft song and following is the link and some lyrics of the song.

Oceans apart, day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice, on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain
If I see you next to never
how can we say forever

Wherever you go, whatever you do
I will be right here, waiting for you
Whatever it takes, or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

Following is the poem "Waiting" by Robert Frost

What things for dream there are when specter-like,
Moving amond tall haycocks lightly piled,
I enter alone upon the stubbled filed,
From which the laborers' voices late have died,
And in the antiphony of afterglow
And rising full moon, sit me down
Upon the full moon's side of the first haycock
And lose myself amid so many alike.

I dream upon the opposing lights of the hour,
Preventing shadow until the moon prevail;
I dream upon the nighthawks peopling heaven,
Or plunging headlong with fierce twang afar;
And on the bat's mute antics, who would seem
Dimly to have made out my secret place,
Only to lose it when he pirouettes,
On the last swallow's sweep; and on the rasp
In the abyss of odor and rustle at my back,
That, silenced by my advent, finds once more,
After an interval, his instrument,
And tries once--twice--and thrice if I be there;
And on the worn book of old-golden song
I brought not here to read, it seems, but hold
And freshen in this air of withering sweetness;
But on the memor of one absent, most,
For whom these lines when they shall greet her eye.

Following is the VM "Waiting". Hope it is not too slow for everyone. I have repeated couple of scenes, but I couldn't find any other appropriate scenes for those lyrics.

Misti, yes this is the song by Bhupender Singh and Asha. I just thought of this song after a long time and I wanted to use it on Dev. I used to love this song because of its lyrics. Also thought that lyrics filmed on Dimple's character suited Radhika. You are right that this movie was based on Hitchcock's Dial M for Murder. Though the ending of the HIndi version was not up to mark in my opinion.

Coming to your VM liked it a lot...the song was matched well with the scenes and the emotions depicted in the scenes. It was very poignant.

Thanks, Misti. Those first few months of CB had depicted by Dev and Radhika so well by showing both of their view points. I like these episodes because so much attention was paid to characters. The writers here were the same as the ones who were initially there for CB2. Even though the story kept on changing from the very beginning, yet the emotions were shown in those early months of CB2 too.

You are right about Tagore's waiting...the context there is different and it is a more philosophical poem. I liked Frost's poem that you hose for this VM but I loved the song by Richard Marx...

Yes, that poem was philosophical and I liked that poem a lot. But it did not suit this VM at all. Frost's poem is good, but the song by Richard Marx is really beautiful and it is the one that suits the VM the most.

Neerja, thanks. The movie was interesting in the first part, but I didn't like the second part where they made the mess of it because they want to fit everything into a particular formula. So the ending of these adapted Hindi movies is rarely as crisp as one would like them to be.

The reason I don't like to repeat scenes is because then all VMs start looking like each other. But if I have to use a partial part of a repeated scene, then I use it as long as the VM looks different from the previous one.

Thanks for liking the poems in context of VMs. I am now rediscovering my love for poetry. So at least making these VMs is not a total waste of time.

The next VM is based on the song "Woh sham ajeeb thi" from the movie "Khamosi". It is from Dev's perspective.

I have tried to use the same theme for the song as was used in the movie. This song is a poignant romantic song. Here Dev's character is optimistic and is living in a moment where Radhika is close to him even if there is distance between them. Radhika on the other hand is confused, torn and sad even though she too cannot stop thinking of Dev. So there are contrasting emotions in the song for two characters.

I have titled this song as "So Near and Yet so Far"; the title is somewhat in contrast to lyrics. But I found it more fitting because of the scenes I used in the song. There is a distance between the two despite both living in the same house because of their circumstances.

The title is taken from a song by Ella Fitzgerald, a famous American jazz and song vocalist. She had a beautiful voice and there are two songs that fit this VM. The first one is not available on youtube and I am just giving lyrics of it. The second one has both links and lyrics.

My dear, I've a feeling you are
So near and yet so far
You appear like a radiant star
First so near then again so far

I just start getting you keen
On clinches galore with me
When fate steps in on the scene
And mops up the floor with me
No wonder I'm a bit under par
For you're so near and yet so far

My condition is only so-so
'Cause whenever I feel you're close, oh
You turn out to be, oh, so far

I just start getting you keen
On clinches galore with me
When fate steps in on the scene
And mops up the floor with me
No wonder I'm a bit under par
For you're so near and yet so far

My condition is only so-so
'Cause whenever I feel you're close, oh
You turn out to be, oh, so far

Ella Fitzgerald - Reaching For The Moon

The moon and you appear to be
So near and yet so far from me

And here am I on a night in june
Reaching for the moon and you,
I wonder if we'll ever meet
My song of love is incomplete
I'm just the words, looking for the tune
Reaching for the moon and you.

Following are links for the song "Reaching for the Moon" by Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.

There were three scenes that I always wanted to use from CB2. One scene was of Dev sitting in the window after the truth about his parents came out. I used that scene long ago in one of my VMs. This VM uses the second scene involving mostly Radhika which I was unable to fit in any of my previous VMs. This is the scene where Dev stands up for Radhika when Shanti was abusing her about her past actions. Here Radhika feels overwhelmed with Dev's support and falls even more for him. The third scene is also from Radhika's perspective but it didn't fit the VM.

So unless I find an appropriate song for that third scene, this should be the last VM for CB2 as I have used all I can from CB2. I found the song "Teri Diwani" by Kailash Kher that fit Radhika of CB2 perfectly. Also the VM started from that initial scene and then I just finished the rest of VM using whatever scenes I could find. So the VM doesn't form a linear pattern.

The title of this VM is "Unending Love". The title is from a poem by Rabindranath Tagore. Following is the entire poem.

Unending Love

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times...
In life after life, in age after age, forever.
My spellbound heart has made and remade the necklace of songs,
That you take as a gift, wear round your neck in your many forms,
In life after life, in age after age, forever.

Whenever I hear old chronicles of love, it's age old pain,
It's ancient tale of being apart or together.
As I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge,
Clad in the light of a pole-star, piercing the darkness of time.
You become an image of what is remembered forever.

You and I have floated here on the stream that brings from the fount.
At the heart of time, love of one for another.
We have played along side millions of lovers,
Shared in the same shy sweetness of meeting,
the distressful tears of farewell,
Old love but in shapes that renew and renew forever.

Today it is heaped at your feet, it has found its end in you
The love of all man's days both past and forever:
Universal joy, universal sorrow, universal life.
The memories of all loves merging with this one love of ours -
And the songs of every poet past and forever.
