Well, he did falter in his trust towards Radhika -- he chose to trust some other woman rather than his wife and that indeed was his mistake. But the reason behind him doing so was his guilt. Because he felt that he has ruined Barkha's life by involving her in his life's mess. Acc. to him poor soul Barkha had sacrificed so much just so that he can get his life's biggest happiness -- Radhika. It was Barkha who swapped the brides and let RaDev marriage happen. So Dev is hugely indebted to her and in this obligation, he couldn't see through Rads' real intentions. On top of it, Barkha's smart moves assured him that Rads is indeed feeling insecure...and thus her jealous towards Barkha.
I DONT agree with your words wherein you have stated that Dev started falling for Barkha. NO, that NEVER happened. Dev always yearned for Rads. Though he mistrusted her...but when she was away, every moment he was pining for her. Never once did he look at Barkha as his wife, and neither did he let her come close to him.
Though as a husband, Yes, I am disappointed by him. Even the Lord stated that Dev has done a huge sin and will get a punishment too. Precisely the reason why Lord came down. And yes, Radhika's love does seem far more superior to Dev's at this situation. Hope Dev realizes his faults soon.
