Blokes, I agree that TV is a powerful medium and presenters need to show accuracy especially something related to faith and dharam as they influence people.

I liked BR Chopra's Mahabharat for the most part because Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza was writing the script and he was a very learned person. It wasn't perfect but his interpretation was pretty good and he used various sources.
I am not a big fan of Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan because of its execution, but he too used several sources (versions from all over India) to show authenticity. At the end of the show, he would come and if there was a controversial episode (Ram giving up Sita or asking her for agni-pariksha), he would quote different sources to indicate what is written in each version of Ramayan. And why he used a particular version because it was his interpretation and went more with his vision of Ram.
Now this is a daily soap and can't have that level of accuracy. But there are so many mistakes at even a small scale that they are inexcusable. Also they should leave literal interpretation of dharam and Geeta aside if they are going to show it to justify the ludicourous tracks or their version of right and wrong. Just show actions of Kanha and audience can interpret the way they want to .

beautifully said, why 6 (when did u become 6?!!) Dr Reza was amazing- what a powerful script he wrote for Mahabharat! I was so honored when I received a prize from him for an essay contest as a high school student when I was studying in Delhi during that Mahabharat time on DD.

<< Just show actions of Kanha and audience can interpret the way they want to>> so true- I remember this crazy comedy film in Tamil where God comes to Earth and no one believes him to be God!!! It was one wild laugh from start to finish and it did not hurt the sentiments of anyone watching that film!

In this serial, as they have brought in Kanha as the Lord out to save his devotee and give her back her "rights" and at the same time teach her "right from wrong (like sharing her sindoor!), it is far better to stick to that simply and not get sucked up into bhagavat kathas that get morphed into Gita updesh!

Blokes, those serials on doordarshan had quality that is totally missing these days. There were intellectuals who were writing scripts or adapting something. Bharat EK Khoj was another great serial where each episode was so well researched. I learnt so much about Indian history from that show. Then there was another serial starring Pankaj Kapoor and Sushmita Mukherjee that was excellent. I have forgotten its name but he was an acrobat in that serial.

In fact, I doubt such serials would even last more than couple of months on TV these days the way storyline is a function of ratings. The characters and script change from episode to episode.
I became why6 when the fake wife track was introduced in May to mock myself for analyzing a farce as a piece of art. But compared to current track, those were indeed high quality shows.

As far as this track is concerned, they should stay as far as away from explanations of dharam and religious books as possible because their version of dharam implies justifying various crimes and sins (basically all their tracks) in name of Kanha and dharam.
