Chanchan is a nice show, the only problem is it's time slot. It had to compete with shows like Diya aur Bati, Balikavadhu (if i'm right) which are top in TRP. In India a saas-bahu show to get TRPs must have the bahu with 'sar pe pallu' n all traditional stuff. Chanchan has a way too modern bahu compared to these high TRP shows. Doomed to fail commercially.
Sony should've played it safe. They had high hopes on Sanaya, they cud too but not in competition with such shows, Indian audience are not that modern.

I guess the TRP audience is not ready for the progressive thinking that was Chhan Chhan.

Sexual harassment, adultery, bigotry, corruption to name a few. A woman of substance, too. Heavy issues that occur everyday in India (and elsewhere, but we are talking about TRPs in India here!) but which no-one wants to face, and everyone wants to hide.

I thought Chhan Chhan was a fab show. And yes, execution, story line etc does make a difference. (Sanaya's previous show which did very well, had awful execution after the first few months, a demeaning story line, heck, they even changed the characters...!!!)

And anyway, after Anuj Sachdeva took on the character of Manav, the show did become more interesting.

I guess, Chhan Chhan was ahead of it's time.

I will miss the on screen chemistry of SaNuj. And their off screen 'masti.'

I couldn't help but smile every time I saw those two together!
