There's still a way manav could save his ass, considering he used a smartphone, they may figure out later tht his pictures and videos were backed up to google+ and there he has the evidence.
But seriously how could they not backup the damn file, I always backup my not so important files too then something like that, I would definitely make sure I've backed it up on the cloud, a flash drive, on other devices, sd card, maybe even a cd (although nobody uses them these days)
