and the answer is, lol as long as she plays a good little Indian TV serial heroin she is gonna end up having such traits dumped on her character! n she looks so sweet n docile like a little angel that its not likely she will be allowed to pull off a negative role cz the audience will start sympathizing with the negative character then! (it happened with RKB and i hated the main lead and loved Sanny!!😆)
And rofl i loved when she fake fought Manav!! aha... bring it on!! I love when she rarely throws a tantrum!!😆

anyway on a serious note.. di one thing i used to say even when this show was a much bigger mess was that, 'the one thing that will have to differentiate CC from the rest of Saas bahu stuff is here the battle is to save the marriage and relationships and it will not be about the winning...'
i kinda see that happening...

I agree
the battle to save relationships makes it refreshing
but it shud be paced and told better
that's my peeve

I don't get where the confusion is ... it seems very simple ...

The Chhanchhan Umaben confrontation changed the equation between Chhanchhan and Umaben ... Chhanchhan has got rid of the threat to her marriage once and for all by disclosing the Sonali story, but also she saved Umaben's face as well as her relationship with Manav ... both Umaben and CC knew that if Manav got to know of UB's role, he would have walked out of the house. He had done it once before, he would have done it again. CC saved that relationship along with her marriage ... hence UB acknowledged that she was wrong in thinking CC was wrong for Manav ... CC was the right girl for Manav, because she valued ALL his relationships, not only her own.

And Chhanchhan understood where UB was coming from ... hence she deleted the video ... by doing that she acknowledged UB's explanations of her actions, and that UB's actions had basis in her own history, and were not just out of sheer evilry ...
That was where she forgave UB ... After all, Manav had said very similar things to Chhanchhan too ...

But UB still feels that she has preserved the family unity and Chhanchhan with her modern thinking will split the family ... so while she acknowledges CC is right as Manav's wife, she feels she is still wrong for the family. UB has preserved the family by following the path set by her MIL ... Chhanchhan wants to preserve the family but NOT by following UB's path, but by treading her own. Which UB is not ready for ...

This is not a regular antagonistic saas fights bahu story ... this is a situation where both women actually have started respecting each other, albeit grudgingly ... started to see the other's POV ... but still both hold that their own path is correct.

Practically speaking, your questions are valid. sure, Uma is not trying to break Chhan chhan 's marriage, but how can she have no grudge/grievance/anger?And she'd be justified if she did. Even if she wants to remain an integral part of the BS household, it would take her sometime to act normal again. Although I like that she's no longer trusting Uma blindly, but questioning her motives at every turn. But yeh serial hai yaar, zyaada dimag mat lagao. Even the best of them have plots that defy logic.

So far, CC has always succeeded to foil UB's plans .. In the recent most encounter, CC once again defeated UB and made her marriage safe.

But now, how do you want her to deal with UB? She knows UB tried to destroy her marriage but failed to do that. What is the point of fighting the loser when the battle is already over???

.. Of course, this cannot be forgotten or forgiven overnight, and I am sure CC hasn't either.. but they are a family and its a life-long arrangement. What is the point of keeping grudge to someone who is part of your daily life. So she is trying to be a normal with UB.

But that doesn't mean she would not fight back when she would see the battle starting once again. Be it on a serious issue like dowry or mundane thing like chicken pox.. And today's episode was a proof of that. CC is trying to be within the family but not with the darkness of medieval traditions.. She is fighting as and when she she is needed and that also in a very intelligent way.

I don't think there is any scope for confusion.

I was thinking the same.. In most tv shows the initially spunky n bold heroine ultimately becomes the sacrificing typical Indian bahu.. CC had maintained a balance of sorts.. Hope they clarify in further episodes..
I personally feel kidnapping the kids for vaccination was quite right.. There is a limit to how much u can bang ur head against a wall.

Once again bang on post rima.

I also do not know why CC behaved apologetic and looks

submissive. She is the same girl stood against dowry issue.

But now knowing all about UB her actions are not of a

confident and modern girl who can say wrong to wrong.

I am not saying that she has to fight with UB or make her feel belittle in front

of the family. But at least she should take some steps

to end all her evil plans.

For example I like the way Dada ji confronted UB.

It was very effective.

Exactly my point !!
I mean , just because UB shared the reason of her hatred that was totally unreasonable , CC forgot everything she tried to do and is trying to win UB's heart now 😕
That's simply illogical !!

I think this is the whole point that just because a girl is modern in her thinking doesn't mean she's going to think of herself only and she can adapt to her environment to achieve her goals intelligently. CC apologised because she's chosen her battles and fighting UB is not one of them, the battle she's chosen to fight is UB's way of thinking. CC's goal in all of this is to keep the family together and not let UB fall in Manav's eyes while at the same time trying to show that her way of thinking is not wrong.
I think in the gazebo scene the two did understand each other better and personal experience tells me that it helps to forgive when you can understand the motivation behind the other person's actions. Even if she hasn't forgiven then does that really mean she has to sulk or pout or cry or scream the house down? She had the chance to to walk out but she chose to stay because as she said before she may be modern in her thinking but she also knows how to maintain the unity in a family (I think in the scene where she came down in a sari after UB told her she could wear a suit). Just the name modern bahu brings up connotations of a dil who under these circumstances would scream out how she's been wronged and walk out of the house with husband in tow. Sanaya said at the beginning that the concept was to show that modern girls can respect and uphold traditional values at the same time as maintaining their thinking. Today's dialogue about 'neem ke pate being part of the treatment but not the whole treatment was a perfect example of this thought process. UB doesn't believe that a modern girl can do that and CC is out to show that she can. So, my pov is that CC's reaction was true to character.
UB's reactions were also true to character...she wants to save her way of life and see's CC as a threat to that and so wants her out of the house. She knows CC is perfect for Manav and is no longer playing games to separate her and Manav. I think when UB said to CC that she is the perfect choice for Manav the Sonali track came to a natural end and I for one hope it has because the one thing I really like in this show is that tracks aren't dragged unnecessarily...Sonali track has fulfilled the purpose for which it was created and so we're moving on.
Kudos to the creatives for finally getting it right and giving the show they intended to give.
