Saree Woes

Poor Chhanchhan!!! And horrible Umaben!!! Woman, don't you stop to think that by leaving your daughter-in-law open to insult, you're insulting your own family? Really hateful woman ... can't wait till she gets her come-uppance! 😡

To begin with yesterday .. Umaben is nonplussed as to how the three bahus completed the task in time. To add insult to injury, CC turns out to be UB ki maa in terms of rituals ... cows should be given gur with rotlas, that's what Dadi says. So she helpfully ordered the gur herself. The next person to be impressed with Chhanchhan's sanskaar is Manek ... he approves.
Umaben is not happy ... not only did the divide and rule policy falter, but CC earned herself some more support.
Further insult to injury, Manav calls Chhanchhan yet again ... UB disgusted as to how much of a joru ka ghulam he already is. 😆

So the saree plan ... now that was truly vindictive and a horrible thing to do ... Umaben is a disgusting woman! 🤢 But then she has proved that already with Purvi and Purvi's dad. 😕

In the meantime, Manav calls again ... fourth call in one morning? He is a sweetheart! 😳 And finally Chhanchhan manages to talk to her adoring hubby ... who's a bit perplexed as to why she's so busy.
That's right, Manav ... get back and investigate, please!

Sarabhai home ... Dad is apopleptic at the thought that the nasty Umaben is making his poor darling daughter work her fingers to the bone on her first day ... why did Chhanchhan need two roti makers?! Dadi and Maithili try to calm him down ... so does Chhanchhan when he calls her ... don't think he's completely happy, but is slightly reassured.

Poor Chhanchhan is missing Manav terribly 😭
SN - SO glad again it's the new Manav ... with old Manav, by now I would be telling CC again ... bhaag,CC, bhaag!


Technology to CC's aid again ... how to tie a saree. And it would have worked too, if CC had the time to fix a few safety pins ...
Since she didn't ... disaster 😲 The Mahila Mandal ladies seem to take lessons from Umaben on how to be nasty. And I'm not too conversant with munh dikhayi, but in all the movies, the girl sits quietly and everyone comes up to her to give her gifts. She doesn't go around to touch everyone's feet. Another convenient tweaking of traditions by Umaben ... now if traditions are tweaked against her, she's got it coming. 😡

Precap was the saving grace ... Manav is back. Phew!!! 😃

Finally i had sense enough to land here before midnight!!

grrr honestly she might be having a moment of fun, and CC would be humiliated for that moment..but well CC is too modern to think of this after that day!
and she would care a damn about it after a few weeks time..but well whatever the mahila idiots think and will talk on the coming weeks and months will be about UB's bahu! not about CC! cz it will not matter to her! but it will matter a darn lot to UB!! idiot vindictive woman! 😡

arrghhh i could happily kill that idiot Sanjana!! i was more angry with her than with UB actually!! arghh if the idiot just let CC put that single safety pin!
sigh...CC forgot to say the magic word! 'what would UB say if this falls cz of no pin?' sigh...damn!! i was so upset lol...though i know its a story lol..

I don't like seeing tears in Sanaya's eyes BAS!! and any1 and anything reel or real that hurts her and gets tears to her eyes...i cannot stand!😭

but awww indeed the Manek being won over was FAB!! lol loved it and hilarious indeed Manav!! hehe good boy!! keep at it! be around her and care for her!

LOL now this is a father many Asian men need to take lessons from!! perfect daddy!! love his worry!! he is so cute!! anyway daddy daughter talk made me sad..cz sigh...the small lies r beginning...the little girl is growing up..hiding her wounds from her papa instead of running to his arms and finding solace...i kind of felt sad..cz this is all of our story one day right?
once marriage happens...we will no longer be only his little girl...we will have one more thing to consider about...time to grow up...to decide what to tell n what not to...

Precap: why do i expect her to run and hug him n cry n tell she missed him so much? n start on her woes? that i doubt will happen..but would be adorable and very natural if she does after the perfectly horrible day she had without him by her side!😳

Well basically angry at people, sad with her tears, laughing at the precap.. still the point it I loved watching what I did today..so ya i like how this is going...nice balance..

I know ... it was good to see Manav back so soon! We were missing him as much as CC was! Not fun watching poor Chhanchhan trying to cope all alone with that woman!

Great post. Whenever I think of UB, I think of a circus ringmaster who whips the animals to do some tricks. This is pretty much her tactics on dealing with her DILs. Poor CC is forced to face humiliation by her wicked MIL.

True!!! I think Umaben realised she can't terrify Chhanchhan into running away ... so now she will try to humiliate her.

Let's see what happens once Manav is back. Will Umaben back off, or will she try some new tactics?

I love reading your posts after each episode even though I have yet to watch the episodes as they air later here.
