See, I absolutely adored the Kartik (not Mohsin; too pretty 😆) before Kaira vivah. He was sweet and caring and a very nice person. But when they started butchering him, I lost interest. Exactly what is happening with Abhimanyu too. I am also finding HC is not that great of an actor. I mean Mohsin probably learnt to act in this show. He didn't have an established career before. But for someone who is hailed as an "amazing" actor to come and act like this is 🤢

I agree a lot have to do with writing because theybare trying to make Kartik out of HC. Of course, it is going to be worse if you try a rugged featured man to act like a pretty chocolate boy 😅

Now another show I watched is Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi. I have almost zero complaints about Sonakshi. Again they did not Dev toxic. He was an insecure mama's boy and I loved watching how she didn't become a doormat and called him out for all the crap he and his mom does. And there were ups and downs and real growth in the male leads character Instead of butchering him later. They were successful in showing his flaws and how it created problems and later how he evolved. So his core was never toxic or horrible like Kartik and Abhimanyu. This is not to say the show was perfect. But in ITV world, this is the best I have seen.

And obviously it didn't run for 5 years and all. Which makes me wonder how are forum members any different from TRP aunties. Both love regressive characters and storylines irrespective of any show.

I saw autumn and did a double take, then realized you're in the other hemisphere😆 Well, it's supposed to be spring here soon but it's bloody cold so I envy you!

Agree with you (bold) - she really does. Neither of the leads seem to be able to calibrate their performances because of how inconsistent the writing has become. Boring is right - waiting for Harsh, Mahima and Arohi to enter center stage...

Exactly - they're trying to make Abhimanyu into Kartik. I mean, who casts a muscular, strong-featured actor in his late 30s and tries to make him into a Ken doll character🤔

I think HC is a reasonably competent actor when the script gives him a consistently rationalized character. I have noticed issues with his dialog enunciation across his other performances and some of his facial expressions tend to be bit off, but overall he is capable of turning in a decent performance. The problem is, the character is now being written almost like a parody and he is definitely not of the caliber to rise above such terrible writing. Same with Pranali.

This Kuch Rang show sounds interesting, I'll have to see if it is streaming on any of my available platforms.
