So I just went through that episode and the Arohi Kairav scene is worth watching. Arohi crying and saying she swears she's happy for Abhira and Kairav/Neesh but sad for herself is the one sincere note I've seen in this show in weeks. It was hard not to feel bad for her when she tells Kairav she can't believe everyone's forgotten how she was jilted and all her hopes broken (the unsaid part being, by the same person now being welcomed as their damaad). Basically her reactions were exactly how I'd imagine an amoral person dealing with conflicting emotional change where they're trying to be more empathetic and overruling their natural solipsism. I thought it was extremely well-written and well acted. But perhaps my bar has fallen very low for this show...

I think Karishma is going to be really fine actress someday as she gets more experience under her belt - she has got genuine talent . When she cries, her sadness seems authentic unlike Akshu's 'sad emoji face' crying and Abhimanyu's contorted weepy face which just off-putting.

The final scene between Abhimanyu and Akshara is a premonition into the rocky future of their marriage. Abhimanyu shouting at her that she has no idea of his family's history and she coming back with how all she's interested in is her positive future as the Birla daughter-in-law, not in their past. I guess no one told her about what happens to those who ignore history.😆

At the end of all this, there's a little romance lollipop and I had deja vu to Kaira - fight fight, romance romance and no time for any candid communication or conversation🤔 At least Kaira were together for a while and knew each others circumstances well before marriage. These two are straight up rushing in where angels fear to tread🤣

I'm hoping they'll beef up Arohi's role now - even if she's going to be grey.

Then there was that nightmarishly bad pre-cap...🤣

Apparently today Aarohi was seen sorrowing over her lonely state and how nobody seems to care that her dreams got broken and all.. What was that scene?

Some of you mentioned the Goenkas were just the same even in Arohi's tilak, not concerned about akshu's feelings as they are now with Aarohi.. But the difference is that at that time nobody, except kairav and he had his reasons for wanting Akshu to not get with Abhi, knew of Akshu's feeling for Abhi, they thought it had been only from Abhi's side and that too was overcome seeing as how his family preferred Aarohi as a bride for him, and it probably went down well with them that Abhi was being so sanskaari and going along with his family's decision more than his own preference. And Akshu was being all so celebratory..but now they all know how Aarohi wanted the same guy, and how she was humiliated so they should show some understanding and concern, I feel.

I need to add the disclaimer to the prisoner's dilemma scenario that there will be no gangland-related repercussions😆

I still have to work out the other settings (it's now a group project, thank God!). But lets say there's a couple where the husband is supposed to wash the dishes but doesn't. The wife can either:

  1. Wash the dishes herself (wife will have an extra chore, husband will be down one chore - but harmony and cleanliness will be preserved)
  2. Tell the husband that she won't wash them either, letting the dishes pile up (wife doesn't add a chore, husband doesn't have to do his chore but the downside is they will be living under very unpleasant domestic circumstances and that will stress the marriage bond)
  3. Tell the husband that they will alternate washing the dishes as long as he holds up his part of the schedule (that way, she gets more work but he gets a little bit less work - however marital and domestic harmony is preserved)

This could be an iterative situation - that is if the wife finds that 3 doesn't work out and the husband doesn't step up then the next time this situation presents herself she's more likely to go for 1 or 2.

Anyway this isn't really perfect yet but you get the general idea...

As Eka said there a lots of real world financial situations to which this could be applied too.

Someone posted this on the main forum. I am guessing this is from today's episode? Leave great or good. How is this even decent acting. Both Harshad and Pranali! It's so ridiculous. Watching this gave me second hand embarrassment. Now I am going to take a shower. 🤣

I am sorry post Tilak butchering of Abhimanyu has spilled over to HC also in terms of terrible acting. He probably can't connect with hot-cold man child Gunda Ken Abhimanyu.

Yuck and yuck!! HC's laugh! What do people see in him?! Hadn't seen him in anything before, but when the news came out that he was coming into yrkkh, I saw a segment of his on Sbs, just celebrating 18 years of that channel, and I was like this guy is going to step into Mohsin's place? 😒

So I am the minority here in that I really like MK's looks, yes he's a pretty boy kind but I still like it, he has such a sweet face..and you know Kartik's character fits so well with his looks. Most of the S2 fandom, and the show actually ran on this..saw Kartik only as Naira's eternal lover, that was his USP..and so without that, when they showed him move on after Naira's death, it seemed like his character was just killed. But you know from how his sketch was drawn from the first..when he was living with the Maheshwaris, how he used to be always ready to give a helping hand to everyone, even when he was working for Naitik, before his involvement with Naira..from all of that initial depiction and then also throughout in various vignettes he is seen as a very kind-hearted, compassionate people-loving person, without any snobbish traits at all. This was the portrait of Kartik that I find so endearing and his crazy love for Naira is not the only or the most lovable thing about him for me. In that way I found it more attractive than Naira's character which seemed to me to have a smugness about it which was so off-putting. So in the course of the show's run, they did hack and butcher the characters to bring the estrangement and angst, but that sound base of Kartik's character's decency stays with me. And in the last Sirat track, it came out with full force, mellowed with added maturity and from having lived through deep grief.

Even in his face-offs with his father, there is still an underlying acknowledgement on Kartik's part that Manish was elder to him, and their arguments looked more natural as that of being between a father and grown up son at loggerheads. But the way Abhimanyu wantonly humiliates his father is so mean and vulgar. I so hate it when they compare the two father - son duos.

As for Mohsin, the actor, from everywhere in his interviews and other interactions I've seen and, more importantly, from all his co-actors and other colleagues, he is always talked of as a humble, polite and down-to-earth guy.. Even his fan girls who've met him say how decent and nice he is. Nowhere have I ever seen anyone other than Snow say that he is rude and arrogant. Why do feel so Snow?

Yeah, in this I guess the third option is best. Though what I would really do is scream at him and get him to wash the dishes and also make him feel a creep for getting me so stressed by not doing it before hand without my losing my temper. 😎😈

If YRKKH had been the first show I'd seen in him, I wouldn't have been impressed either😆

In Bepannah and Humsafars he had a very masculine, sexy aura, and his acting was decent (not as good as I thought initially but reasonably competent). None of that applies to Abhimanyu. And his laugh IS jarring, mainly because it is the opposite of sexy and masculine🤣

I totally agree with your assessment of how Kartik was developed - the gentle and non-macho personality they gave him was very sweet and charming till as you say he underwent the same character butchery most MLs do. I never saw the Sirat track but I suppose the fact that he stayed with her for what 7-8 years without divorces and separations does suggest he made husband goals there. Also agree that in all his conflicts with Manish, there was never any suggestion of violence or aggression. There isn't any comparison with the humiliation Abhimanyu enjoys inflicting on Harsh. MK himself didn't do it for me because, I dunno, I'm not really attracted to his kind of looks (eye of the beholder and all). I've never seen him in any interviews. I read somewhere (S2 board here maybe) that he would block any fans who disagreed with him (or some such thing). But I could totally be off there😆

You and Snow can duke that one out🤣

However Kartik is much preferable over Abhimanyu, even the later S2 Kartik, and for me that's saying a lot...

exactly ,.I rather watch arohis two minutes than abhiras 20 minutes 😂…I like Arohi..and karishmas acting…I find both very genuine…and Karishma is very pretty… tbh Pranali does far better and also looks far better as the vamp villain…she looked so good as the evil but beautiful Saudamini..but here everything about her…from aksharas character, to her looks, and dressing and even her acting just puts me off…and well …we all know how we feel about jijaji..😂 So I haven’t been watching the episodes online in the morning as I used to,..I just watch some scenes on tv as it starts at 9.30pm after Nima denzongpa ends on Colors..so I just switch channels and watch a bit of yrkkh..but today was Saturday and I forgot to watch the episode…but I want to see kairav and Arohis scene so I must go to Instagram to watch clips,.

Hey nice to 'see' you, Indira - what time is it in Cape Town?

I've never seen Pranali as Saudamini but from a few scenes in YRKKH where she is stern or serious (like when she tells Arohi she doesn't want to put haldi on her) I can see how she'd be better as a darker character. She is kind of sugary as Akshara - always with the scrunched up happy face and gritted teeth smile or the open-mouth wide-eyed gawping expression at Abhimanyu. I also think Karishma is very pretty, and she has an interesting screen presence. I just FF through the episodes on Hulu when I have time. Most days I end up watching the 20 minute episode in 10 min or sometimes even 5 minutes🤣 - Arohi and Papa Birla are the only ones worth watching nowadays...

Tbh,.I didn’t mind what karthik said or did in the show,..as mohsin was so cute that we could forgive karthik anything..😂…but karthik was a loveable character…I always felt he was written well…we could understand his behavior..and why he did what he did….even in the end when people said how could he marry Sirat and move on….I made sense of it …in that he had to,,.he had to take control of his emotions , he had stop grieving and start living again and be happy so he could take care of his kids 🤷🏻‍♀️..

it’s 11.15 pm now here…it’s supposed to be the start of Autumn but summer is still very much around so the nights are still warm ..😁. Yes I didn’t want to say it…but pranali tries so hard to make akshara seem sweet and kind that she actually makes akshara look a bit dumb..😂🤦🏻‍♀️..akshara just comes across as a simpleton..Sometimes we see a difference where it seems that akshara is thinking,, maybe that’s when pranali says she’s tired of playing this simple akshara …and decides to look smart..😂…..I really hope we see arohis story starting,.it’s so boring watching abhira and their childish romance..😬
